The fact that you’re basically telling a mixed-race person how they “should” identify completely nullifies EVERYTHING you’ said.

You made up your mind before even asking me what I meant. You misunderstood me and misquoted me. If you want to know what I meant, you can apologize. Otherwise, have fun with your preconceived notion.
I’m projecting? You misinterpreted what I was saying, misquoted me, and have failed to apologize.
So I didn’t say anyone “should” do anything, right? Is this a petulant way of apologizing for misquoting me?
I agree strongly with basically everything you said here. We should stop talking about Black and White because they don’t even mean anything anymore. We live in one of the most diverse and inclusive societies on Earth (possibly the least racist nation in the modern world) and should move on.
I disagree. It was non-sequitur. The protest is not about the anthem. It’s about current events.
I treat people equally. If you protest against something and I disagree with you, I’ll respect your right to protest and tell you I disagree. I would never hold my opinion back just because the person I disagree with is a minority or whatever. That would be real racism.
A lot of Black people were saying that Obama…
You’re trying really hard to mitigate that fact that he wore a Fidel Castro t-shirt to a press conference that garnered nation-wide media attention. He was making a statement. And he is either too ignorant to realize that the murderer on his shirt would never stand for his peaceful protest, or he supports some form of…
Good argument
Who said someone “should” do something? Who are you quoting?
Uh, try reading their platform. They aren’t just protesting racial conditions in America. They have a complete set of policy positions. It’s more state involvement, redistribution, public works, collectivism, and the like. It’s not even a little bit ambiguous. You haven’t read their platform. They are Marxists.
I said nothing about his right to wear the shirt. He can wear a Mao shirt if he wants. I just question his understanding of or concern for free speech when he wears a Castro t-shirt.
Literally had no idea he was part black until this story broke. And it’s dark out at 11pm, so I probably would have an ever more difficult time.
I think what Charles is leaving out is that Kaepernick is protesting in line with Black Lives Matter, which is founded in the “open season on black men” narrative, not issues with the author of the declaration. Charles’s point is kind of non-sequitur.
