I used to love Abarat, especially the first two books. I just could not get into the third...

There's too much stuff going on here!

They are going to be showing Genesis of the Daleks, the first serial with Davros creating the Daleks. And then afterwards they are going to be showing another action-oriented serial, Seeds of Doom—plant monsters...in Antarctica.

I don’t know if this is my absolute favorite series opener of NuWho. It definitely ranks up there as one of the best, and it definitely got the ball rolling in a fast-paced, raucous way that was certainly exciting and stellar as well. Hmm...

Some of the details on these illustrations are marvelous and strange as well. Definitely a good fit for the book and series as a whole.

Okay, this is fascinating, look at all of the names etched onto this door! J.K.R., T. Riddle, Moody, Stoker, Strange, Snape, Flamel, etc.

Oh dang it, just looking at all of the stuff on the Radio Times website...this is going to be an interesting series of Doctor Who. I hope it lives up to the hype, mystery, and darkness surrounding it, because it could be fascinating drama that way.

And when I tried to type a comment once on my phone, it typed out backwards.

What? Okay, that Padme thing might be interesting...

That is a possibility...personally I'm wondering if this is really an epilogue of sorts and not a prologue, if the title is misleading.

What the heck is that from? Ah! Scary Dan Ackroyd!

You might get a Big Trouble in Little China reboot, though.

Or was it the cross-fire between Cybermen and the Brigadier's crew at that time? I don't think it was called UNIT yet.

Although one of the most popular clips of Patrick Troughton from The Invasion, the clip that has often appeared in retrospectives, is the one where his Second Doctor is comically running through the alleyway, getting shot at by Cybermen.

Admittedly I think the musical episode was filmed earlier and was supposed to have aired earlier, but there was a delay of sorts.

Yeah, beautiful and awesome in many different ways-I finished Reamde several months ago and it's great, almost a speed-read through 1000 pages! Not quite science fiction and fantasy, though plot elements do center around an MMRPG with fantasy elements.

Mmmm...there are parts of the story that I still love, yet there are other parts that are slightly dated. He has some good, strong female characters, but they feel a little underrepresented, and he had some disparaging stuff in that regard-especially the dead witch. The 1930s/1940s slang/dialogue doesn’t always hold

The book has a lot of explanation, though, for why things went wrong or how things work out the way they are supposed to, so in a way, you might deprive yourself of some of these explanations and reasonings behind his actions or why things happen the way they did. A little bit technical, but understandable enough.

He shot a Predator!

Hmm, Tristan was an Arthurian knight of the Round Table. Semi-close.
