Eh “good player” is underrating him. He was a top ten player during his prime and he has a legitimate case to make the hall-of-fame. You’re correct he’s not a generational talent, but calling him ‘good’ doesn’t really capture him either. There are dozens of good players and he was something more.

Pretty sure the average Celtics fan would settle for a trip to the ECF or even a decent showing in the second round. Given how bright the Celtics’ future is and all the focus on it, the fan expectations for this season are pretty minimal.

They’ve managed, in 2017, to create a team in which four of the five best players-Biz, Vucevic, Payton, Gordon-cannot shoot at all. No other team in the league can boast that kind of awful shooting and spacing, it’s absurd. I’d love to know how certain GMs can keep their jobs for that long.

The answer’s there-2017 is projected to be an unusually strong draft class, and Portland’s already over the salary cap so they want to maximize their chances of hitting on a high-upside player on a cheap contract.

I’m still just in the applications process, with a few acceptances, but for what it’s worth, if he has a good GPA and strong LSATs (a test that can be learned, if he’s willing to throw everything into it for four or five months, make sure he’s studying the actual past tests in addition to the Powerscore and other

That would be a regrettable side-effect of the social media outrage over his book: drawing the sort of extraordinary attention that marketing departments can usually only dream of, especially in the publishing industry.

Yeah I was oddly relieved with the Atlanta playcalls in the second half as a Pats fan. They should’ve ridden Devontae Freeman more, and targeted Julio Jones more often as well. Seemed like they got way too conservative with the big lead.

Started to point out that I have no idea what the racist cliches are, but I can tell it doesn’t matter. In a way it’s interesting to see that it’s not just the entire far-right that are gaping assholes, but one or two psychos on the left as well. So I guess you have my thanks, you aspiring little faux-historian you.

Actually I will respond, how am I a stereotypical racist in any sense? Someone invokes the Atlantic slave trade in the above article, I comment on certain ironies involving the Arab/Islamic involvement in the slave trade while simultaneously voicing my disgust for Trump and his ban. And I’m the racist? What goes

Bless your little heart

You realize you come off as an apologist for the Arab slave trade, right? I’m fully aware of the distinctions between the two, and also that you’re erasing the horrors of the Arab slave trade because you’re singularly obsessed with white people. I’m not interested in whitewashing anything, I’m not contesting that the

I routinely enjoy your hot takes, but alas, you’ve disappointed here. “The numbers on that are disputed.” Here you’re just doing the whitewashing you complained about earlier, trying to dismiss facts that don’t mesh with your worldview. The Arab slave trade did exist, and is relevant in a discussion of this nature.

A more interesting point is how the Arab slave trade was broader in scope than the Atlantic slave trade, and that Muslims were largely responsible for collecting and buying slaves and shipping them east. Or that a few of the countries on Trump’s list imported slaves as well. Or that Libya, a main port for the Barbary

Not sure this is the ideal time to trash Rivers as he’s averaged close to 20 ppg over the past ten games as a starter while shooting a decent percentage. At the very least he’s a tolerable bench player.

Yea, and the horrifying thing is there aren’t just a handful of those people. I sometimes look at Breitbart to gain insight into their mindset (never works) but like the top comment today is literally about restoring a ‘classy’ woman to the white house. it’s fucking insane.

The theoretical rationale (not mine) is that Blake Griffin isn’t really an ideal fit for the clippers. He can’t shoot 3s well despite having a strong mid-range jumper and on the many occasions he’s injured the team performs just as well without him as long as Chris Paul and Deandre Jordan are healthy. I think he’s an

I think the most discussed landing spot for Melo has always been the Clippers, possibly in exchange for Blake Griffin given he’s about to be a free agent and has serious knee issues. You probably would need to offer more than just Melo, but I can see Doc approving it. It is shocking how far Melo’s value has plunged

That’s literally the opposite of what the linked article says.

Yeah, that or being teammates with Markieff Morris is warping his sense of reality...

Not sure what you’re on about, but that’s hardly the consensus view of Crowder. Yes, fans would like to trade him in a package for Hayward or, even better, Butler (contrary to the lazy narrative here), but that doesn’t mean Celtics fans hate Crowder. He was a fan favorite last season. This season he looks slow and
