I wish Kerbal had come out on Wii U, as it was long planned to, though one wonders how it could possibly have worked there. I remain interested, but only if they can get a good controller scheme working for it, rather than keyboard. Love the aesthetic and mechanics of hardcore planning space expeditions.

My PC is VR-compatible but I don’t think I’ll ever take the plunge. Between the expense of a headset and the extremely likelihood of getting motion sickness, I’m not convinced it’s worthwhile. Kudos to folks without instant motion sickness though - seems like VR could really open some doors.

I did the same thing with my PC a couple years ago. It felt weird to have a room I went to, away from my wife and dogs, to play PC games, so I moved the big ol’ tower next to our TV stand and it’s functioned as a gaming console/YouTube/Netflix machine ever since. I never like playing with a keyboard anyway, so having

This week I’m playing...

Check out Part Time UFO. it’s default controls are technically two handed but you can change it to one handed in the options menu. Hope you feel better soon!

I don’t know why I’ve never quite been able to get into Spelunky. It was one of my first big indie games on the Xbox 360, but I played it a bit for two weeks or so and gave up. It felt loose, I never felt like I was making progress, etc. That said, I’d like to give it another shot. It’s apparently a great fit on the

I was pretty bummed to not to be getting my Dark Souls remaster on Switch this month, but made myself feel better by buying a PS4 Pro and Bloodborne.

Brace yourself for an amazing game!! Easily one of my Top 3 Wii U titles, and indeed one of my favorite platformers overall.

PixelJunk looks amazing! I hadn’t seen anything about this before, so what a treat.

Aha, I’d forgotten about Yakuza but that’s on my list too! It doesn’t seem like it would necessarily be up my alley but the enthusiasm among Gameological folks has me interested (and the last time that happened it worked out well, as this crew convinced me to buy a Wii U).

Oh, good call on Titanfall 2. I (like so many others) forgot about it, but I’ve heard such glowing things that I’ll definitely play it at some point. Also I’ll add The Last of Us to the list, since I believe it’s 60fps on PS4.

Note: I’m copying and pasting this from the God of War For Our Consideration article, where I erroneously posted it earlier today...

OH MY GOODNESS, I thought this was What Are You Playing This Weekend and it just took a strong focus on Gerardi’s experience with God of War. Ahahaha, what I’d give for a ‘delete post’ button.

This weekend I’m planning to play Persona 4 Golden (I’m trying to take down Mitsuo), A Hat In Time (just finished the Mafia world), and Secret of Mana (I’m in the Water Palace).

I wouldn’t have thought that there was any more life in this series after its masterful original trilogy, but I was proven wrong as the Starz series managed to be even better than its source material. Still, I think we should consider ourselves lucky to have gotten this work and see where Bruce Campbell goes from here.

I’m glad to hear this. I actually play my Switch handheld 75% of the time or so too, since I don’t have to wear glasses like I do for TV games! Anyway, I’ve heard of others who are cool with handheld Spla2n, so it seems to vary by user.

Oh yeah, me too! Spicy food is actually more likely to give me hiccups than booze. I’ve got a weak esophagus though, so who knows.

I’m not a parent, so my thoughts on this are next to useless, but I figure that YouTube game watching culture is just its own thing that’ll go on to inspire the next generation in the way that all our weird entertainment inspired us. The Let’s Play format is hard to relate to (much as I love game

Yeah, this is a bummer - games are for everybody, and not every game is for every person.

We did need to talk about Kevin, after all. Ha ha! Anyway I suspect that’s who I’m thinking of.
