my dad's 52. During the original airing of Advanced D&D, he texted me: "Community is the best show."

I'm close to tears, this is so beautiful.

For me, the tendency to call Abed "straight-line," is less about him being uncomplicated, and more about how he rarely alters course once he's committed to an action. The motivation is nuanced, but he's always slightly detached, so he usually goes through with all of his "stories."

additionally, certain family exchanges are white elephants this year… I've been vocal enough about Community for family members to at least be interested, so I was going to throw some DVDs in the exchange.

I don't really compare dramas to comedies, but… it's pretty fuckin fantastic so far

Jumping in now… am I too late? Using Holidays as an excuse to slip Community's 3 Christmas episodes into the family's yearly rotation of Christmas movies and specials.

If cancer couldn't stop this show, I don't think this will. The twist of season 53 is that Dexter is eternal, probably a vampire or something.

i don't get invited to enough weddings

at least I know if The League is ever in trouble, we should all just send FX a bunch of panties covered in Forever stamps

nooooo Toooodddd noooooooo :'^(

it was a (really goofy) sitcom with semi-regular musical sequences. I can see it going either way with this new one. Seeing as how Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab co-wrote the pilot, and Schrab stayed involved through the whole series, if this new show is anything similar it could end up being a fitting (if not profitable)

the worst part of this episode for me was that it is now obvious that they're setting up Gabe as Andy's Toby. Not only do they want Helms to be exactly the same character Carell was, but they want the office to have the exact same dynamic of characters.

man!

no, not at all. i didn't find it challenging or enlightening, just a character informed by a lot of archetypes portrayed credibly by a talented actor - I'd call that doing what he's payed to do, but not really doing anything with the form to deserve an award.

Is that the Citizen's Arrest episode?

yeah i thought clooney was fine in the movie. I spent no time thinking about his performance, wich means it neither bothered or wowed me — which, to me, is a good performance.

Every time it cut to him I was like "…here comes the monologue!" and then he just smiled and nodded.

oh, that's nice.
