They’re getting uglier.

The wheels... the massive plastic grill... the love handles on the side... the droopy ground effects... this thing is hideous.

Is part of getting old mean I have to think cars seem to be getting uglier, or are cars really getting uglier?

and, yet again, the handy drain plug means cleanup is a cinch.

No other explanation — Musk “does good at rockets”.

OK, I did the hard work for you...

You forgot the Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust, aka...Geoff.

So why do anything right? I might as well eat the whole cake instead of part of it because it’s unhealthy for me either way.

So do explain why it would be a halo car like the Hummer that pushed people to switch to electric and not mainstream crossover like the Model Y?

So do you want to bet by how much times will Model Y outsell this hummer? 10X?

Pretty much, Hummer peak sales was 71.5k per year in the US. In comparison, Tesla Model 3 sold 158,925 cars in US in 2019. Aka, Tesla Model 3 outsold the hummer 2 to 1. Yet hummer is somehow mainstream stage 4 while Model 3 is still stage 3?

Why? You think GM will get bailed out again in the next 10 years?

Counterpoint - we’re still very much in “Stage 3". GM just throws out a couple big numbers to get the blogs all hard, and we get articles like this. People still care very much for EV-centric stats like range and battery size.

Let’s assume Torch isn’t off his meds again.

Don’t hold your breath unless nissan decides to start electrifying Frontiers.

You could have also addressed that the Model Y is being pulled in. But you didn’t, you chose to turn what was a mostly positive earnings call into a negative.

11 thousand foot-pounds for 11 minutes at 11 miles range, when towing 11 thousand pounds of trailer weight. Followed by 11 hours at a charging station.

yeah i wish theyd go all out for efficiency vs power like i can’t use 1000 hp on the street as well as i would love to have crazy range since i don’t have a garage to charge in every night.

That wasn’t much math at all, what are you talking about?

(Sorry if you have seen this post before—I am reposting so that potential first time EV buyers have a realistic view of range requirements).
