oohhh....torture! I was working for his campaign at that time... (but even still, I love Howard and Dr. Judy, and especially loved that she stayed in her practice)

Ha. Thanks. :)

No, I agree with you in theory. I am all for self promotion, but I guess I'm mostly feeling defeated in my current situation, as it hasn't done me (or any of my eight equal colleagues) any good.

It's more about the type of "promotion" that's being offered. A stupid title, some shitty responsibilities on top of our current daily responsibilities, and a minimal stipend to go with it...so none of us really want it, but because they pay us so little in the first place, everyone's reaction is sort of like, "well,

I am dying. DYING. I'm laughing so hard that the thought "if there is a hidden camera in this room, how would I explain what I'm cackling at" just went through my mind. Plenty of snorting too.

Oh same here. There is, in fact, a promotion possible for 1 of 8 of us at my employer and they want us to apply for it. They want to pit us against each other. And there are only 13 people who even work for the org, and the only male is, of course, the Exec Dir. *sigh*

Actually a lot of daycare centers will start taking babies at 6 weeks old. Yes, 6 weeks, not months.

whaaa? that is awesome! how did you do that? tutorial please.

Same here. I think because I always thought it was spelled "jipped" so...it sure wasn't obvious to me. Once I heard what it meant when I was probably in my 20s, I stopped saying it, but lets face it, I probably also though gypsies were mythical creatures in storybooks for a long time as well.

I thought she had a good comeback as well. The whole exchange was just awful though.
