No, you can absolutely get mad. Being an asshole because you’re just not thinking about anyone else doesn’t lessen the impact at all. Adults have a responsibility to their children to consider the impact their actions and words have. Yes, we’re all going to mess it up sometimes, but our children still have a right to

You’re telling me a rich old white man who “owns” a team of mostly black men is... racist?

I also think that the practicality of California dems gets overlooked in situations like these. Yes, there are a lot of us that are very far to the left and have some significant criticisms of Newsom, but we aren’t willing to fuck around and end up even further to the right, especially when the stakes are as high as

I like her line of thinking, but the men at Tuskeegee weren’t given syphilis. They had contracted it and were being told that they were being treated for “bad blood” while being denied penicillin, allowing the disease to rage on. This was done in order to “study the progression of the disease,” which is just as

It’s been discovered she doesn’t even live in Oakland. She lives in a super pricey South Bay city. She and her husband also recently had to settle a lawsuit because they refused to pay for work done on an investment property. Really stand up people here.

Team No One

I lost forgot the password to my account years ago, and this comment was so perfect it forced me to figure out my login again just to say so

Last primary cycle, I wasn’t super excited about either Hilary or Bernie, and wasn’t 100% sure on voting day who I’d cast my ballot for. This time, I was pretty sure I’d settled in Warren a month before the first debate, and my conviction keeps growing with her.

People who are actually not racist don’t do things like wear Nazi memorabilia while making a Nazi salute and holding their fingers to make them look like Mr. Big Nazi while hanging out with their neo-Nazi girlfriends.

I think you misunderstood my point. I was drawing a parallel between Schumer and Hart, pointing out that they had both made derogatory comments to a group of people and made apologies that were weak at best. My point was that in both cases a predudice is at the root of the “jokes,” and just like none of us were

Yes. That was the point I was making, using Schumer as another example of a comedian making derogatory statements about a group of people and not being genuinely remorseful about it.

Did you say the same for Schumer when she made that half-ass apology for that racist interview she did with Dunham? No, because we all recognized it wasn’t just the one incident. It was a pattern of behavior that revealed an inner predudice that a simple apology wouldn’t make us forget.

A great time for that would have been in 2016. Now is merely a convenient time.

This teacher is absolutely a cuntknucle, but Jesus that little proverb drives me crazy. I, and many teachers I know, are dedicated, capable, and very smart and could have had all sorts of lucrative careers, but *chose* teaching. There are teachers who went into it because they didn’t know what to do, but many of us

Can confirm. I was homeschooled, am well-educated, but there’s something about interacting with groups of people in person that I just can’t quite get the hang of.

Happens there too. Everywhere I go, people try to touch my hair.

I live in the SF Bay Area. It happens a lot

My dad’s country cousin used to bbq raccoons for Thanksgiving.

I had a person run out of the coffee shop I passed by to touch my hair. It’s for real.

Damn. These little kids got me all misty eyed.
