In my corner of science and engineering we’ll just call it an S curve because it gets the point across to the widest number of people as quickly as possible.
Regardless of the specific need for this thing, it’s a terrible move to simply brick something like this rather than opening it up for the community who did buy it to repurpose the device, especially since Spotify still exist as a company. (e.g. I can imagine that if they had gone bankrupt that there may not be…
Lol, what would get this enthusiast into an EV would be a small, quick coupe that doesn’t weigh 4500 lbs and doesn’t cost six figures.
People love to complain, myself included. I’m fine with a conservative range estimator, as it was fun to see it change due to charging up before driving or gathering charge from downhill driving (a common refrain on the trip was “it’s free electricity”.)
I recognise that gauge cluster from a recent road trip I did, and I also had the weirdness of the range increasing from ~ 396 miles after a fill up to > 500 miles as actual driving occurred.
“wasn’t an attention-seeking move”
I guarantee the 911 is more comfortable over crappy roads than the WRX or Lancer. I know that abut the former because I owned one, and the latter because my buddy owns one.
I daily my 996.1, unless I’m on my `78 Beemer. Vehicles were meant to be used, and the 911 is a comfortable and quick daily driver.
Gustavo, you should daily your Porsche.
Idk, I think this is hilarious, but it’s almost the textbook definition of selection bias.
Here’s How To Minimize Glare From All Those Ridiculously Bright New Headlights
I was trying to troubleshoot the ignition on my then-new-to-me ‘78 Beemer and was removing the timing advance unit for the first time. As I’m undoing the nut, I feel the sickening sensation of metal plasticizing and the threads break off. What’s worse: the timing advance unit is directly mounted on the tip of the…
I swear, more than half of the things people complain about being the fault of ‘the government’ are the fault of Brian who lives three blocks over because Brian hates three very specific cultivars of grass, and so is on a personal crusade to ban, and then report and fine, anyone in his immediate vicinity who dares…
The ordinances specifically allow for advertising of services/companies, just not sale, which is such a hilariously specific thing. If they also banned commercial vehicles from having ads and phone numbers it might have been harder to contest, but then they would have had all the local companies fighting it from the…
Sounds to me like he was parking the vehicle in a public space for the purposes of transportation, not “for the purposes of selling it”. If that clause just had ‘sole’ in the middle of it, I’d call this a slam dunk for his lawyers, but as it stands I’d say he’s still likely to win.
My folks once sold an Altima to someone from MD (went from an Altima to a Baltima) and he insisted that they “guarantee it would pass MD inspection”. Woof.
I’ve honestly never had a bad experience buying a used vehicle, just poor choices in vehicle (and that’s a ‘me’ problem). The worst experiences I’ve ever had have been with new car purchases.
The worst is trying to buy a used car in Maryland and bringing it over to Virginia: getting it safety and emissions inspected to even register the damn thing is a nightmare because MD doesn’t require annual safety inspections.
I swear, I got on a plane just two weeks ago — in the window seat -- and found that the ribs of the plane were protruding so far into the cabin and my seating space that I was pushed over into the middle seat space. I can’t really do much about my shoulder width.
