I’ve honestly never had a bad experience buying a used vehicle, just poor choices in vehicle (and that’s a ‘me’ problem). The worst experiences I’ve ever had have been with new car purchases.

The worst is trying to buy a used car in Maryland and bringing it over to Virginia: getting it safety and emissions inspected to even register the damn thing is a nightmare because MD doesn’t require annual safety inspections.

I swear, I got on a plane just two weeks ago — in the window seat -- and found that the ribs of the plane were protruding so far into the cabin and my seating space that I was pushed over into the middle seat space. I can’t really do much about my shoulder width.

It helps that the Scots don’t refer to it as ‘scotch’, but simply: whisky.

I absolutely drooled over this car then, and still do to this day. I wish I’d been stable enough to be able to afford one new. This and the Model S are the only Teslas I ever thought looked any good (and the latter has waned in beauty with the unfortunate updates it’s received).

A few years after. I’m in Virginia, so vehicles are legally considered ‘antiques’ at ≥ 25 years old.

Yeah, I’ve had people tell me the maintenance on my car would bankrupt me, and, tbh, my ‘it’s totally reliable, bro’ Japanese sport sedan was the one that tried to do that, not my nearly-antique German coupe.

Actually, not naming your sources when they’re worried about retribution is Journalism 101, and wouldn’t you know it: he’s known for retaliation against employees (see current lawsuit against SpaceX).

At what point in the article does it claim that it wasn’t employees as sources to Reuters?

Car makers are giving up working on tech to prevent crashes with kangaroos because the animals are too unpredictable.

To bring back something from the old days: “building cars is hard”.

Yes! Good! Important!

Yeah, my partner and I have separate finances (though we both pay in to a combined account for normal house expenses, etc), but I certainly talked through my current automotive purchase with them and ensured they were happy with it (and it’s only ~280 a month)

Agreed, they should be rushing to fix the problem yesterday.

My dad had a first-gen manual-transmission X-terra; I loved that little truck so much. It went anywhere we took it with aplomb, and did everything we asked of it. The stadium seating in the back was also nice for people who tend to suffer from motion sickness, as well.

Habits matter.

To prevent vehicle rollaway, Kia is advising owners to move the gear shifter to the “park” position and manually engage the electronic parking brake before exiting their vehicles.

After too many of these WCSYB articles without any ridiculous answers, I’m happy to see a salvage-title Viper on here.

Easy: Porsche’s Moonstone colour. If I ever am wealthy enough to buy a new Porsche, I will be specifying this from their Sonderwunsch catalogue.

I’m a big fan of downbadging
