They're equally common down here!
There were massive mortars in the Civil War, but I presume they were not so deadly as the massed artillery of The Great War.
Hipster ankle-biting. If not for The Beatles the musical world today would be a very narrow, constrained place.
Buckaroo Banzai never got a sequel, despite the teaser at the end.
The Battle Of The Bands has gotten a lot nastier since the 60s….
Sounds like the bookstore is ceasing to meet a need, & events are proceeding accordingly.
I first saw Eraserhead after binge-watching an afternoon and evening's worth of weird movies, like Altered States and Liquid Sky. It cut right through my numbed state and creeped me right out.
Simple Minds' "Don't You Forget About Me". It was written by outsiders, and shopped around to several other acts, including Brian Ferry, who all refused it. It became Simple Minds' biggest hit, despite the band considering it to be rather corny. Now they're stuck singing it for the rest of their career.
