I think the “car dealer gives you a bunch of money” line was maybe a little disrespectful and unnecessary, but other than that I don’t see what the fuss is about either. The whole “X is leaving? That’s it, I’m leaving too” is cringey AF. This is not an airport, yada yada.

I will keep reading Jalopnik even if my favourite writers keep leaving the website, always happy to give new talent a chance. But I will absolutely not stick around for this kind of clickbait. This is not directed at you Lawrence, or any other writers/editors. But the suits should know they’re outright destroying this

oh man.

I don’t blame you, we live in crazy times and it often feels like theres this impending doom. It’s only smart to save up.

Yeah, cost of life in the US seems to be absurd. 80k would be a very good salary in my little corner of the EU (that would be €70K/14 months where I live, so €5000/month, which is about the same as what our President makes). It’s insane that that’s not enough to save up for a nice old car.

It’s really sad because this trend of skyrocketing prices doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon (if ever). I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I will probably never own most of my dream cars, and I don’t even have any supercars in my list (maybe a couple of luxury cars, but it’s like a 70s Rolls-Royce

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I’d choose the Clio V6 phase 1 over the phase 2 if I was in a position to choose. I wouldn’t even spend any time deciding. Those extra 30hp don’t make up for the fact that this one looks so much better.

Yeah, people don’t usually take the time to think about the fact that, unlike the R5 Turbo and Turbo 2, the Clio V6 wasn’t really necessary and yet they made it happen. It’s so absurd, I love it! I’m more of a fan of old Renaults (and I’m old enough that even the Clio I feels modern) but the Clio V6 will always be one

The way that these guys make no attempt to stop the car from running a red light, and just react in disbelief is bone-chilling. They may not be inattentive in the reckless way other Tesla drivers are in other FSD incidents, but they’re so concentrated in beta-testing FSD that they let it put their lives in danger and

Duchess is surprising like that.

hahahah so good!

They did, and for some reason I always assumed it also retracted at a certain speed when it starts to make difference from an aerodynamic perspective, but it appears that it doesn’t. And who am I kidding, pretty sure RR owners don’t really care for the extra fuel the drag from the Spirit Of Ecstasy burns.

NBA wasn’t doing games in China because of diversity. They were doing it because China is a huge market that makes the NBA a lot of money. The streaming deal with Tencent alone is worth $1.5Bn (and the company has unceremoniously dropped both the 76ers and Celtics games after each team’s separate controversy). The NBA

We know for a fact Ryanair has spent money studying this a decade ago (the application for test flights was rejected, but that’s how far they went). So yes, pretty sure at least some airlines know the exact figure for some planes.

They’re incredibly popular here in Portugal, and the literal translation of the portuguese name is “Berlin Balls”.

I guess we just learned the answer to “how high can you get from huffing Lucas Wiring Harness Smoke?

Someone put a VR6 in a Lupo. A friggin’ Lupo.

Oh my god, flashing emergency lights in poor visibility are the worst. And it’s not just the glare, it’s that it renders them completely useless; if you come upon some kind of road hazard that you should actually warn others about, what do you do? Turn them off? Those people are the worst.

plot twist: they did indicate, but forgot they had the emergency blinkers on.
