I mostly just play WOW and HOTS and some light Overwatch (but mostly on my PS4).
Read “Bloodlines” by Claudia Grey. It does explain a lot. And fills most of TFA gaps, including why Leia left and joined the Resistance, why New Republic does not want to help, and who founded First Order. It is enjoyable and fun reading without dry parts. And unlike Aftermath, it is very well written, and it does…
Written by a wholly unreadable author. I read literally every book published in the original EU - and everything outside Wendig’s books in the NuEU, so I have a pretty low bar for writing quality - Wendig just happens to be the first author in a long time that I just genuinely can’t stomach.
Indeed. Such a horrible book was not seen for a looong time. And to make matters worse, it is not one book, it is trilogy of awfulness.
Thank you for taking it upon yourself to allow me to not have to read this garbage, and still find out what happened. You’ve truly died for our sins. Bless your heart.
I don’t think they gave Dubya a break, Clinton a break, Obama a break.
It’s crazy that is has taken a meglomaniac’s screaching about the press for them to get off their asses after 24 years of giving sitting Presidents handies under the table.
“Pardon me?”
Whoa now. Everyone take a deep breath.
I would bet a zillion dollars Gimple stole their whole schtick from an old Star Trek episode.
Saudi Arabia hosted its first comic convention over the weekend, marking a turning point in acceptance of Western…
Morgan’s ok. The ‘Life is precious’ act is old, sure, but he’s still likeable. Rosita though? Holy hell. She’s turning into the new Lori.
I found the Scavengers to be very awkward. And not in a good way.
What no one realizes, is that trash heaps all over the nation are already populated by Thunderdome cosplay rejects waiting for an apocalypse to happen so they can finally be free of society’s judgement, these folk just got lucky.
So, last week I posited that The Walking Dead might have gotten good again. After watching last night’s episode, I…
I think you’re giving it a little too much credit, honestly. He’s far too engrossed in scenery porn and TRYING to create a visual in the reader’s mind. The problem is that when you try that hard, the effort becomes noticeable and pulls focus.
This. I really wanted to dive into the new canon SW EU, and I honestly tried but I couldn’t handle the poor writing. It’s not really a style choice, it’s just bad. I felt like I was reading a 12 year-olds creative writing assignment.
We should probably thank Wendig. If not for how awful Aftermath was, we'd probably never be getting Zahn bringing us Thrawn back into continuity.
He has some interesting ideas - the whole Meanwhile vignettes in the first book were hands down the best thing in the tome (a World War Z style book, full of woven short stories about the post-Endor universe would have been much better than what we got). But man, his sophomoric writing style is such a chore to get…
