Going to coupes being allowed I can understand—I mean, they're not stuffing a V8 into many sedans nowadays. It's not as cool to see a car that's not a big four-door pot o' crazy on track, but yeah.

I don't think his "daddy" helped him into f1 but no doubt it played a part in the lower formulae and in the odd sponsorship deal. If it wasn't for Fernando, Spanish public would have no interest in f1, crowds dwindled massively previously. It's definitely a 2 wheeled nation.

Gerard! Put your phone away. Those groceries aren't going to bag themselves!

Apparently one of his karting competitors doesn't think much of Sainz promotion to the top tier.

I bet he was cranking to manually compress fuel/air in the cylinder, and then the plugs were fired, starting the cycle. But that would take a lot of strength...

They are pulling out effectively at the same time Holden is closed down with 2016 being the last plausible season running? Makes all kinds of business sense, doesn't it? I guess the Australian Touring Car Championship is getting a little less Australian from 2017 on with both Aussie efforts out of the field.

The whole point of NASCAR was/is that it is an endurance series, that's why they have 500 mile races, that's why the points are the way they are with a linear distribution of points per position. That's also why the chase system doesn't quite make sense to me.

Serious question:

I'll say it again...

I don't hate the idea of cutting out competitors for group-competition sports. Golfing has a cut day at each tournament. Track & field has many rounds of cuts. Even lower-level oval racing thrives on it with heat races. I would make a few changes to the Chase however.

I hear ya, but $$$ talks. Indycar has had some very exciting races over the last few years. I caught myself watching the Indycar races over some of the NASCAR races this season. However, they do not get the viewership or attendance NASCAR does. If NASCAR shortens the races, the ad revenue goes away, the purses

All they had to do after Kenseth's 2003 win to "fix" the points system is reward more points for winning. Then you'd still have a fair points system that still rewards season long consistency, with slightly more emphasis placed on winning. Instead you have this playoffs crap.

Sorry Stef, I have to disagree with you.

Loving the guy who shouts "NO WAY" the second the ball leaves the kids hand while the rest of the gym is dead silent in anticipation.

You're either the next Subaru or the next Suzuki. Why should anyone believe you're going to be the former? We saw a string of frankly, similar concepts from them and then one sedan and then they went away. I've been covering you for seven years and your company has done almost nothing in that time to persuade me to

Agreed and proven!

I kept it to five cars. I may make this a recurring feature every now and then. "Y U NOT ON TRACK YET?! ALL THIS STUFF!"

I find that it is persons (men) of means that are more of what I see this in. The gentleman racer who spends his sponsor money (the sponsor being the business they own).

Sometimes you've gotta hit rock bottom before you pick yourself back up.
