The reveal of Luke at the end - as opposed to him witnessing Han’s death - was a the better of the two options. Luke never witnessed Han’s entombment in carbonite either, but that didn’t inhibit his ability to be affected by it. Just as Leia felt Han’s loss through the Force, so too should Luke, who probably also felt

Of all the things I love about the new Star Wars trilogy, possibly what I love best is bringing Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill back to a more public position for interviews. Such genuine, insightful, supportive people, I adore every interview with either of them.

I wish they would have saved him for the end of act 1 in the next movie. Him showing up at the end seemed really tacked on.

In a film full of remarkably safe, fanservicey decisions, saving Luke until the end was an admirably bold piece of storytelling restraint, and it was executed beautifully.

3 cool men doing manly stuff like drinking beer and watching manly football in their man cave... because men are so primal that they spend their time in a fuckin’ cave! I don’t know how this term became popular, but I cringe every time I hear it.

Yeah, those young dudes with trendy haircuts, sleeve tats, and a tastefully appointed loft are the ones fighting to keep the Redskins name. That casting agent was trolling the SuperPAC.

Don’t even give them that. Everyone who voted for Donald Trump may not be racist, but they sure as fuck don’t care that he’s racist or that a ton of his supporters are, so they might as well be racist.

The media jumped on the reporting about Dao because the info is available and they need to keep a steady stream of related articles out there to get the clicks. They’d have to do actual legwork and put in some time to track down the officers who dragged the guy off the plane.

Generally, I agree that the terms of the contract of carriage only allow for a customer to be denied boarding for overbooking, not removal. Overbooking does not fall into any of the categories specified in Rule 21. Furthermore, Rule 5 makes explicit reference to Rule 25, which specifies payments for those denied

The only violence committed here, would would warrant a police response, was conducted by the police themselves. At no point should they have become the private henchman of a paid consumer service. That’s is not what they’re sworn to do.

I mean, “winning an argument” isn’t as much the goal, as sometimes I just get proven that I’m dumb and full of shit. But civility on the internet? That came out of nowhere.

the agreement is vague enough that it includes “disruptive passengers”, they could easily argue he was disruptive.

1st The TOS you agree to state in no uncertain terms that the airline has the right to bump you from a flight whenever it needs to, and will compensate you as required by law.

What rights do you have? At this point, you are trespassing.

Compliance is for the compliant.

Since when do we have a right to fly on a specific plane?

Good point. No matter the direction, you should blindly obey authority as they are agents of the state, and the state can supercede the rights it guarantees you at any time.

Since you bought your ticket with your hard earned money and want to get somewhere on time, which the Airline is supposed to provide. Also common sense would lead reasonable people to try to find an arrangement and figure out why this particular person cannot take the next flight instead of beating up and dragging a

“Since when do we have a right to fly on a specific plane?”

Regardless if the airlines have the right to kick you off, shouldn’t you comply when police ask you to get off a plane?
