I saw SOOO many people throwing pure, fire-hot hate at this woman for her comments without realizing: this isn’t Chrissie Hynde, blaming other women for their own assaults; no, this is a woman blaming herself for the horrendous crime that was committed against her and still trying,

We all need to feel in control of our own lives and destinies. That, coupled with the heavy undercurrent of victim-blaming we’ve all been socialized into, makes that reaction next to impossible to fight. :(
