I'm sorry if you are so deeply committed to a misogynistic view of the world that you are unable to see how straightforward her work is. It's not exactly alike she's explaining anything that is deeply hidden or anything. That you are threatened by it is your problem. (And I know a thing or two about what get folks

I don't have a link handy, but they have already lost their shit over this. Because nothing says "family values" like putting a woman on a plane and gift-wrapping her for her abuser.

"Valid" - I don't that word means what you think it means. And enjoy!

HAHAHAHA! You thought I was talking about cursing! Oh my god that's hilarious! HAHAHAHAHAH! Wow! No you idiot, you use their words, their logic, their ideas - you say exactly the same things they say, minus the frothing at the mouth and the rape threats. Man, I like a good laugh in the morning. HAHAHAHAHA!

1. As a young person, you are about 10 times better looking than you think. But don't get cocky.

Well I have watched them, I have played the games, and I do have the education and background to asses them as scholarly work, and she's on target. And if you don't want to be associated with scum, don't speak their language.

There's a reason the word "mansplaining" was invented.

The energy some folks put in denying that sexism is a problem. Gotta wonder why they feel the need to try so hard?

Let me sum up your comment- "I won't watch, but I heard some trolls on Twitter call her a b****, so I'll lambast her right now. And all the women I know have learned not to complain about sexism in front of me, so what's the problem?"

Yeah, it's so out of context she can, as has been pointed out, fill two half-hour segments with examples without even breaking a sweat.

Yeah, if we just pretended sexism wasn't a problem, it would go away, right? Kumbaya, everybody, kumbaya.

Did you even watch the video? Because if you did, I have to wonder if English is a language you actually understand.

Ah, the "period piece" excuse. Here's the thing - it's pretty damn bad history if that's what you think. Societies have always taken violence against women seriously - why else use it as a weapon of war? And there are two points being made here that you seem to have missed - that this violence is presented as normal,

So, it's ok treating women as wallpaper and consistently showing them as hapless victims of terrible violence because no real person is hurt? I would disagree. Being casually sexist is still something to avoid.

Um, men are shown doing all kinds of things, in every level of agency. Men are much more fully fleshed out in the gaming world, in entertainment broadly for that matter. Women, not so much, so the fact that this is such a common trope matters.

Yeah, I didn't want to be harsh, it's just I didn't know what that could possibly mean.

I'm sure she was awful, but "African diaspora" is a legit term if you are talking about, you know, the "African diaspora." What would be ironic about it? It's a real thing.

Yep, the world is simple, black and white. All decisions are easy, everyone has complete control of their lives and everything in it. It's wonderful, isn't it?

Ah yes, the old "don't like authoritarian bullshit? It's your own damn fault" routine. I got a better idea, let's kick the damn authoritarians to the curb and quit giving them space to do all the damage they do.

The Simpsons were appointment viewing in my dorm, early 90s. I even have a picture of all of us in Halloween costumes in the TV room, because that year, Simpsons night was Halloween, and we weren't missing the show for any dumb parties.
