If you implore Russell Crowe, he will visit you and explain to you his passions (incidentally the most threatening thing ever said on Twitter, right up there with the Saudis telling Canada they’ll do another 9/11 on them, thereby admitting they did the first 9/11).

The last few years have really just destroyed my optimism about the future entirely. SF’s my favourite genre but it’s just hard to suspend disbelief about anything except far-flung future stuff like Earth of the New Sun.

Going by the set photos that leaked, you have nothing to worry about on that score.

It helps to assume that Kingdom2000 confuses “acting career” for “personal spank fodder”.

I suspect Kingdom2000 is just a vile piece of shit, but I could be wrong. Either way, I commend to you the use of Kinja’s “Dismiss” feature to eliminate their reply from the thread.

Star Fleet personnel have evolved beyond petty jealousy or the cute Nordic Lieutenant who we’ve already seen run the bridge occasionally would be pretty annoyed she wasn’t tapped on the shoulder to be the XO

The Doctor having a midlife crisis is, well, let’s say an acquired taste, but you did rob yourself of watching the best two-parter - Heaven Sent/Hell Bent - in the show’s history.

I generally respect your takes even if you go overboard a bit, but, come on man.

By all accounts this film is so terrible that it should be ending the careers of everyone involved in making it. I guess Duchovny’s had a good run.

Good natured disasters are quite a bit more palatable than mean ones, I agree.

I saw it unaided except for a couple of beers in my early 20s but I wouldn’t have the stamina today.

It’s just best not to think of this as being the AV Club anymore.

Go back on your meds, kid.

Genuinely a sign of how low the AV Club’s fallen over the last 5 years that there’s no regular coverage of Lower Decks. Easily the best thing with Trek on the name since DS9 ended. And my word what a finale.

The ghost should have a British accent and constantly be telling the disbelieving detective that he’s actually a ghost.

This show has way too much face damage for me to ever actually watch it. The clips I’ve seen were bad enough.

Weird that the AV Club now just does snarky asides about shows it would’ve regularly reviewed fairly positively 10-12 years ago. Like, Titans isn’t amazing but it improved and it’s better than whatever the fuck is going on with Supergirl these days.

Still baffles me to this day and it ended my trust in the film reviews on this site.

I’ll never forgive or forget the AV Club’s D grade for DREDD: a movie that delivered the absolutely flawless mix of Karl Urban scowling, wearing the helmet the entire running length, and muttering “motherFUCKER” when that corrupt judge got his head blown off.

Questions about what’s good or bad in popular entertainment are really “good for what purpose”.
