Yeah... Meghan seems to get her normalcy from her mom. Her father, and especially her half-sister, are needy attention whores (for lack of a better term), and Samantha, especially, loves to project her faults onto her sister.

I like flip-flops. On myself. On anyone. I like them ideally to be nice — leather is good, canvas is good, but even crappy Old Navy ones are okay, peeking out from beneath jeans. They add a nice, casual vibe.

Yeah, the behavior of both Thomas and Samantha definitely crosses the boundary of ‘attention seeking’ or ‘embittered’ into some type of pathology.

I’m confused about her attempt to be hip by using the term “mack down” in reference to consuming a birthday cake. According to the Urban Dictionary*, to mack down is to get your groove on or make the moves on someone. Is she insinuating that Harry is seducing his birthday cake?

I completely understand your point, but I think MOAR’s explanation (in this thread) is the most likely reason for its wide-ranging usage.

I think the term is used to highlight the fact that Megan’s mother, the supportive parent who declines the spotlight, is NOT Samantha’s mother and the only connection Megan and Samantha have is that guy.

I seriously think Meghan’s family of origin has some personality disordered people (mainly her dad) and their enabling minions. Its not a normal level of dysfunction. Maybe some Borderline or Narcissism. Poor Meghan.

It usually just means sodomy in a state where it’s still technically illegal (though seldom prosecuted) or is classified as illegal because of the age of the victim. Also while commonly the word sodomy means anal sex, in legal use it can also refer to oral sex.

I got into a discussion about this case on FB today. Someone wanted to talk about how we raise our boys, and how need to teach them how to deal with their emotions.
