There was a US knock-off of that show, and I LOVED it. It was my absolute favorite wedding show. The couple was told that they were signing up for a show about planning a wedding on a budget, and after they agreed to that they had the “the groom will plan everything” part sprung on them. But the groom still had to

Not just the T-Rex! Pretty much all of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were women (the only exceptions being whichever dinos used their frog DNA to turn male for breeding purposes).

Woodstock ‘99! Wow, I forgot all about that until just now.

You’re right - Netflix is basing it’s ratings on an old dynamic that doesn’t apply to them.

I just had a thought based on this scene, which I can’t remember being explored in the book. In the new gods hierarchy, it would make sense if Media is part of the main pantheon, with Technical Boy ranked under her (think of how Cupid is ranked under Aphrodite).

You are exactly correct - each population created their own version of the deities. You actually meet two different versions of the same god in the book (the American and the “old world”).

This question is only kind of related, but can anyone tell me what Loki’s up to in the comics right now? And if whatever he’s up to is worth reading?

I think it was like any job. I know when the show was on a couple of them were really good outside-of-work friends (the legend is the musical episode came from drunken shenanigans at a regular get together some of the cast and crew would have, where they’d hang at Whedon’s house, drink, and perform Shakespeare).

If it helps, the book and show have diverged so much as this point (characters in wildly different places than their book counterpart, doing different plot things, with different personalities), that it’s very possible this isn’t a book spoiler. I can’t really say more without possibly ruining things, but know that

I’m sure it it an unknown case to the masses, though. I didn’t realize what case this was until your comment, and I scrolled up to re-read the names.

You’ve touched a nerve, so strap in.

Leaning forward/heads down. This is from the funeral.

They actually explain why her dad isn’t there after Joyce dies. Buffy says something to her friends about how her dad “couldn’t come” (which she says in a tone that implies he just doesn’t want to). My memory is a bit fuzzy on the exact reason why - I think he was in Europe for work?

I’ve never seen Morning Glory, but I somehow came into possession of one of their promotional tote bags, and it is the BEST free bag I’ve ever gotten in my life. It’s big, it’s sturdy, it folds up into a nice compact little rectangle.

Exactly. Right now I’ve seen none of the movies nominated, but check in with me a year from now and I’ll probably have seen most of them (I just finished up the 2015 nominees, and Arrival just hit Redbox a few days ago so there’s my weekend movie).

Admittedly I didn’t click into the story, but my ex was an EMT and trained with cops occasionally. His region’s policy was that if you were carrying a taser for work, you had to be shot with a taser at least once, so you understood what it felt like.

I gave up on Legends in the first season, but this review is making me reconsider that. I think I’ll give it another whirl.

I didn’t watch it. Was the Christian Slater reaction show really from his speech?

They do sell them here, but they’ve got stupid stickers inside instead of toys. :(

I don’t know if you’re joking or not, but you’ve just given me and my friends something to do this winter. So, thanks. :)
