Yeah my MIL and FIL are great, so is my sister in law and her SO. But I'm tired of seeing her entire extended family every year. Even they don't like their extended family but they don't have the fortitude to do their own thing. I like to keep it small-immediate family and some friends who don't have/can't visit

I'm not disagreeing with you.

That's not the same thing. A good PR team will have lawyers who can muscle the media with threats of defamation suits and whatnot, but a guy like Cosby needs more than that.

I am surprised that we haven't heard about anything more recent. Could be that the older victims (in terms of how long ago it happened, not age) have had more time to deal with it and mentally prepare to come forward.

Yeah, exactly. He needs to retain a PR firm a lot more than he needs legal counsel-that douche is not doing him any favors.

That's...not what I said.

You know, that's a good point. There may be at least one that's still prosecutable. But given Cosby's power I don't think rape kits were done for any victims. I am not familiar with rape prosecutions but I have to think that the lack of physical evidence may be a problem.

At this point, it's more a PR issue than a legal issue. Not that what he did was legal, but statute of limitations issues.

It's perfectly possible that 17 women with very similar stories have conspired to expose themselves to retaliation from one of the most powerful people in the entertainment industry to...something.

But many people are crossing the line from "asking questions" to making pretty blatant insinuations.

I didn't say you can't judge her, take it easy.

Actually, I think California is one of the few states that allow conjugal visits. I'm pretty sure it's not specific to Manson either. I think it's some weird CA law that says lifers can't get conjugal visits.

So, why is she a Nazi? Because she's staying with him? Her only obligation to society is to turn him in if she has evidence of his crimes. She doesn't have a social responsibility to divorce him.

I haven't even been alive as long as they've been married. I can't begin to imagine the mental toll it would take, to accept the fact that your spouse of half a century is a monster. It's something that can break a person. At their age, it's something that could probably kill them.

The evidence that came out at the Sandusky trial made it very difficult to believe that Dottie wasn't being willfully blind and had some knowledge of her husband's crimes. We don't (yet?) have this same evidence against Camille.

So answer me this.

Yeah, no. This is bullshit. I followed the Sandusky trial, and it was very difficult to believe Dottie didn't know about the abuse. With Camille Cosby, we don't know this (yet). She might have, but we don't have the same evidence that we have against Dottie, so it's dishonest to compare the two.

I know about it and I decide to stay/keep quiet, that's deeply immoral.

I'm trying to understand your comment. Are you really lumping a victim who doesn't report assault and woman who doesn't leave an abuser to Joe Paterno? Fucking seriously?

I do mostly agree. Accusing a black man of rape is also Page 1 of the "Fuck Up A N****r's Life Handbook." The first couple accusations were probably pretty easy to ignore, but when it gets to over a dozen I have to wonder.
