Any book suggestions?
You can't say all this without making at least one book suggestion! Even better, top 5 books (so far)? Come on, don't leave us other book lovers hanging!
Spoken like a true Aries. ; )
Same.
The video was already available on youtube. It's fascinating for many reasons, not leastly because Allen virtually never sits for interviews. The crazy Valentine stuck (no pun intended) with me. So did his remark that Mia told him"you took my daughter (meaning Soon-Yi), now I'm going to take yours (meaning Dylan)." …
Yeah, no worries. I might should've prefaced my Dunham comment with "off topic" too but honestly am not sure it would've made any difference. Sigh.
Oh - sorry. Was just being funny. (Or not?!) See, I commented on this same photo. One simple line, saying that Ms. Dunham looks beautiful in the photo above.
Uhoh! Careful, at least one of your fellow commenters believes it doesn't matter how she looks. Who knows, you might be burned for a witch or have your eyes plucked out for having noticed and commented upon that lipstick!
Oh, technically speaking I'd say it never actually matters how a person looks, now, does it? Depending, of course, on what is meant by "matters." Rest easy; I think the "things that matter" spectrum is comprehensive enough and nuanced enough to accommodate a little ol' passing observation made by me on this celebrity…
That picture up top of Lena Dunham is beautiful.
Unfortunately they lose all their bonus points by using the phrase "What it is is..."
Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion with aloe. Your description sounds like my hands when I forget to wear gloves outside (I live smackdab in Polar Vortex central) or when cleaning/scrubbing. I get little microcuts on a couple of my fingertips, very uncomfortable. This stuff works really well for me and isn't unduly…
I posted this in the earlier Johansson article but it stayed in the grays. Maybe it will this time too but I'm putting it here anyway because I haven't seen anyone else mention the Hannity connection:
Yep, that was my thought. Not exactly original, either - Someone else already did the "fashion shoot in a reverent Jewish spot" concept several years ago and got lots of press for it.
Yes! NPR forever and ever and ever. About Ira Glass - I love This American Life, because who could possibly not, and I used to like Ira himself...but then I learned that he was apparently a real BLEEEEEEP to Lynda Barry when they were involved.
"Back rolls?"
I seriously doubt it. She's worn many, many costumes and street clothes way more avant garde and "complicated" than this over the years. She loves this sort of thing, or so she's said many times. Annie is perfect and flawless and there's no end to what else I might say about her in shameless fangirl mode but instead…
No, he was saying that HE was being persecuted because HE is "uppity" and that she had been put up to making these "false" accusations by people who wanted to put him in his rightful place. He called it a "high-tech lynching" - of him, not her. That quote got a lot of traction at the time. You could've cut the…
I remember this. My overriding thought about it then, as now: Just imagine if she were white.
You might appreciate this. It's perfect in so many ways I lost count. One of many awesome details is the "Shut up little mouse" tape in the foreground at the beginning. Obscure, fantastic reference. Among many! "Every time I see people, they're screaming." Think about it. The whole thing is hilarious and perfect.
