Implying "weird for the sake of weird" is a bad thing (especially considering how the series started)…

1. Refer to my last paragraph. The discussion of academic language was referenced in connection to terms like cisgender.

1. Well, if someone is talking about gender identity and the word "cisgender" comes up, I don't see how that equates to "pretentiousness." Really, I don't think someone using a word is enough to psychoanalyze them.

What? I know these caricatures of tumblr may be funny and inconsequential to you, but it's quite important to some in the transgender community.

If it personally bothers you and you find the person to be using it to be "pretentious," that's perfectly fine, but how does one glean this from another's mind? Isn't that just an assumption that reads like armchair psychology?

Actually, cisgender has been used before the inception of the internet, though mainly in academia. Plus, aren't all words "made up?"

I hope you aren't equating something like a racial minority with Bronies.

Really? You think the testament to the failure of identity politics is an article written on a website that reviews entertainment?

Is there something inherently wrong with using academic language?
