The only movies I can think of that didn't have any female characters are the ones where it wouldn't have been relevant or appropriate. Historical war movies, that kind of thing. I think they've been in the business long enough to have a good understanding of what will or won't make money. That's not to say it won't be crap. Many crap movies make a lot of money. But if there was any money to be made from female-centric movies, they would have made more of them already.
