To get just 150km out of a Model S you would have to drive like a twat. Literally foot to the floor all the time. I can get more than that out of my 24kW Leaf on a good run.

Sounds plausible. Server can’t keep up with distance logs as they come in so discards anything old and inserts the most recent entry for that player. You’d think it would check the time since last insert though and divide the distance by 60 second increments to compensate.

Could power saving mode be reducing the intervals between GPS checks as well as dimming the screen? Screen and GPS are the two big battery killers on AR games.

Niantic made just this sort of map for Ingress so why not for Pokémon Go?
