I’d love to do this entire drive for nostalgia purposes but as someone who has been on the Midwestern portions of Route 66 I can tell you it is a bit depressing. Most of the towns are dried up and shells of their former selves.

I think that’s a bit harsh. Autism isn’t the issue, airlines suck, but they need to know if a special needs issue exists. They’ll accommodate the need. As an airline pilot I saw everything from service monkeys to special meals. It’s not easy, but they will provide for requests.

A diabetic child’s parental unit would not have made claims that the child would become violent. That is why this happened. She should have made it about the daughter suffering and not about the risk of her becoming a threat to others.
