If I wanted to run for my life while having things thrown at me, I’d sit in the visitors section at WVU again.

They’re huge money grabs and really dumb. My sister wanted to do the Electric Run a few years back and I obliged because she couldn’t find anyone else to run. $45 later I get a tshirt and three glowsticks and run around a course on Raleigh’s fairgrounds which includes varying degrees of music and lights. Sometimes

Ah, the “myth” of Highway 1 from San Luis Obispo to Carmel. Wide-open sweepers, beautiful views, etc.

I’d love to do this entire drive for nostalgia purposes but as someone who has been on the Midwestern portions of Route 66 I can tell you it is a bit depressing. Most of the towns are dried up and shells of their former selves.

The Lincoln Highway.

Good. I can’t wait for all the hipster wanna-be riders to buy one and realize they’re terrified of being on a bike or ride it twice a summer and it doesn’t make sense to keep it. I’ll take it off their hands.

Plus many rice cookers can also be used to steam vegetables too (which we use our $12 Walmart rice cooker for more than cooking rice).

Yeah, they need to start using FWD Daewoo platforms in all of their lineup. Just add a better interior (but keep it an ergonomic nightmare), throw on some led lights and the biggest chrome grill you can fit, and you can charge Mercedes and BMW money for them as long as you shift all of the R&D and production budget

No-one will notice so the truth doesn’t matter. That’s the cornerstone of Audi’s marketing.

The Flex earned good ratings in all four dummy injury measures but just an acceptable rating in restraints and kinematics and a marginal rating in structure. These scores earned the Flex an overall acceptable rating and a Top Safety Pick.

Merecedes are looking pretty bad too after they just stuck a iPad mini to the dashboard. It looks really half assed.

Audi isn’t really selling more cars than BMW or Mercedes- it’s creative accounting. Someone in the finance department figured out the volume of replacement parts they’re selling is enough to constitute several thousand new cars.

Making a threat to the people on the board is a one way ticket off of the plane. The mother is an idiot.

“How about we wait for her to have a meltdown and then she is crying and tries to scratch — and then you’ll want to help her.”

If you don’t tell them your kids going to get violent, this probably won’t happen to you. Talk to your doctor before you travel and look into some sedatives. Alternatively, you might just want to drive there. I’ve had to drive instead of fly for this reason.

I think that’s a bit harsh. Autism isn’t the issue, airlines suck, but they need to know if a special needs issue exists. They’ll accommodate the need. As an airline pilot I saw everything from service monkeys to special meals. It’s not easy, but they will provide for requests.

A diabetic child’s parental unit would not have made claims that the child would become violent. That is why this happened. She should have made it about the daughter suffering and not about the risk of her becoming a threat to others.

Meanwhile, in Bizarro World, a few weeks before their flight...

Becuase special snowflakes, why bother preparing for something when you can demand special treatment?

I kinda feel like if the parents knew that without warm food, the child will have a disruptive episode, they needed to have been prepared. There’s ways - food packed in a warm pack, or carrier or something if it was the only thing preventing the child from getting worse. To expect that airlines change their policies
