I gotta say, Princess Carolyn meeting the Stiltons for their cat-hating holiday dinner is so analogous to Jewish significant others’ experiences with Christian extended family. All the interactive pageantry at the dinner could be a stand-in for a Passion Play. Replace “cat” with “Jew” and any mouse character with a

There are actual jews in Bojack though. Bojack showed up at a Bat Mitzvah in S3 and Turtletaub is clearly meant to be jewish. The mouse holiday seems weird because the show goes to pretty great lengths to make all the animal-types and humans live together like it’s no big deal. Suddenly there’s old interspecies

You other brothers can deny, but that was a great joke.

The American remake pales in comparison to the Swedish film, despite including more material from the book. I cannot find the words to describe how little I desire this sequel.

She probably forgot she was in the first one since it’s been so long since it came out.

I’ve corrected that headline for you: Noomi Rapace is Lisbeth Salander. Period.

The Swedish version is all you need. Noomi was a fantastic Lisbeth.

“So if it’s not about their butts, then why is the other judge Sir Mix-A-Lot?” “Because I’m an honest and impartial judge. And if there’s one thing I’m famous for, it’s that I cannot lie”. “Yeah, I guess that would be the one thing”. Sir Mix-A-Lot’s insistence that the thing he’s most famous for is his honesty might

With Bojack’s depression preventing him from having a healthy relationship with his daughter, even as he sees the same depression taking root in her, I’d say that the story this season is pretty uncomfortable, and the potential is there for it to get very dark indeed. I hope not, but I guess we’ll see.

The search for Hollyhock’s mother is the main plot, but it kind of wonders a bit and isn’t focused.

“It’s like church, you say the words so often you forget what they mean.”

True. I bet Netflix would give them the money, though. BoJack is like their magnum opus. At least let the final 2 episodes be an hour long...

One thing I’m noticing as I get further into the season (7 episodes in now) is how the closer anything gets to Diane/Mr. Peanutbutter/Todd’s storylines, the zanier it becomes. I loved how the show didn’t really try to make some sort of complex statement on gun control, and instead just let an escalating pile of chaos

Hm. I loved this episode, and sort of thought it was a commentary on abortions and gun control - ie if you make something into a woman’s rights issue, there will be an immediate attempt to control it.

Same. Episode 6 is the greatest representation of anxiety and depression I have ever seen on the screen, big or small.

The search for mom plotline kind of meanders around. Trying to avoid spoilers, but the way it gets resolved could’ve happened on a week.

To sum up, it’s NOT funny because it’s true.

Where can I get one a those sweet Glockerspaniel posters?

I couldn’t not.

I apologize for nothing.
