Given their history, it seems that they are good at remakes but stumble when it comes to creating a new sequel. With a remake, you have the original game as a template to make improvements. With an original sequel, the training wheels are off.

I really wish I could play this on the Switch. For whatever reason, I prefer turn-based RPG’s on handhelds, and I bet they could make it work on the Switch if it’s also launching on PS3. I know it’s a pipe dream, but it would still be nice.

Pre-patch I got way fewer drops in handheld mode than when playing on the TV, but there were still areas where the frame rate would chug, like Korok Forest and the boar forest on the Great Plateau. Now, Korok Forest is significantly better in handheld mode. I haven’t been able to test anything out on the TV yet, but…

I was one of the first to play DOA3, covering it for GI. I got time with Itagaki, who initially went easy on me in versus until he deemed my skills worthy to step up another level or two. That was pretty sweet.

I also played against Miyamoto once. It was at a closed doors unveiling of New Super Mario Bros Wii, I believe. The first four player one.
