I dunno. None of my friends are hardcore gamers and tons got 3DS consoles toward the end of the year and into this year. I think things are turning around but quarterly numbers always lag behind public opinion. also, there is nothing more than the gaming and tech media loves to do more than blast nintendo. its almost

no. i'm really only against virtual controls that try to mimic console controls. i'm fine with touch screen controls that do cool things or interact with you in a more, um, touchscreeny way.

agreed. i was reading with bated breath until jason tried to sneak in virtual buttons in at the end. then i moved on.

eh not jaded. i am one of these 50 million people. i was overcome by the hype and the 99 cent price tag but, i dunno, i just don't really enjoy it. that's all really. it's not the end of the gaming universe. it's just something i don't like.

when these "analysts" say nintendo has to start porting mario games to non-nintendo devices it makes me think the speaker has never played a video game in their entire life. just some empty suit bloviating about junk they know nothing about.

I've always hated the old "people were just tired of trek" canard haters always trot out. its almost word for word the stuff creators braga and berman said in the press at the time. blaming anyone but themselves? anyways, people weren't "tired of trek" they were "tired of bad trek." every TNG movie(even first contact)

if memory serves, the second one was no longer timed. so it stands to reason that'll be the case for the third one as well.

this is just like the 3ds launch. I am, sort of, happy with my purchase but honestly I use my Vita primarily to play PSP games I missed. I did this with the 3DS as well for months and months until Mario and Zelda and other games started coming out. My only worry with the Vita is, with the 3DS, I knew which games were

i wanna diss but i can't stop playing that dumb solitaire golf game on my iphone!!

it's not fashionable to hate on star wars. that was in the early 2000s. now it's just fashionable to never think about it under any circumstances ever. And that's certainly not the fans fault.

wait are people actually dissing this? this was, by far, the most grown up and well written thing i've ever seen in video game-dom. this kind of animation coupled with a TV/movie quality script in a video game?? i'd be very happy.

yeah I agree with DogIsMyCoPilot. A case could just as easily be made for the exact opposite.

I think the main reason "hardcore" gamers get up in arms over this kind of thing and cling to the terminology is because they/we love gaming but know that its a business deep down and also know that the types of games they love are just one board meeting away from getting replaced by one button touch screen nonsense.

now I feel stupid being wedged between two bona-fide music discussions. oh well. life.

how come every post about zelda across the ENTIRE INTERNET always quickly devolves into some troll trashing it and then everyone rushing to defend it? The entire point of the article ends up being lost. Do people go into Skyrim posts and talk about all of its faults(of which they are legion) over and over and over?

somebody call michael vicks...

Voice acting would be fantastic if it was done right though. Nintendo would need to re-imagine how their scripts are written and get in the ground floor of voice acting way late which makes me nervous but I think, with enough money, it could be great.

I agree. I had zero issues and had a blast with motionplus controls on all fronts. I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

yeah the comparisons to other games, noting how they go above and beyond gameplay innovations that zelda originated, is missing all of the things they absolutely have not touched. namely the design aspects themselves. zelda games are basically one ginormous puzzle/dungeon where everything has a place and there is a

dude! who cares about mario kart. i've never even played that fire emblem and haven't played fusion or minish cap since they came out! i for one am pumped. each of those games is good in some way. no urban champions here.
