Insurance for our two vehicles (an 11 year old Gran Cherokee with a 4.7L V8 and a 4 year old Kia with a 2.4L 4 cyl) is about $1,560 per year for full coverage, or around 1000 pounds. I'm 26 and my wife is 25. Does that sound remarkably low to you?

    #9

I think the XK got the axe, if im not mistaken.

So I'm assuming that is pounds, correct? Is that considered a "cheap" price? In the US if you told me 5 grand (or even 7500 converted on the exchange rate) that's a modest vehicle. I person on the lower end of the income scale could most likely afford that vehicle. But I don't know how that fits in with the

My hero used to be Batman...now it's Tavarish

Ah. I see. No hate, the PDK is actually faster right? I guess my fantasy of this car is simple. I'm not a rich guy but I could afford a 20-25K car and (hopefully) maintenance that goes along. RWD with a stick seems not only the simplest and maybe trouble free, but most visceral iteration of this car. But he wife

I think I read (if I'm not mistaken) that replacing the clutch in a 4 is much more costly than in a standard RWD car. Do you know if that is true?

My Jeep has these and I love them. I actually find that they DONT work in a light drizzle. I.E. they wont cycle frequently enough to keep the glass clear. It really needs to be a steady downpour before they take effect. Otherwise I have to manually tap the lever like a chump.

Do you know what do those warranties cost? I get offered one about once a quarter for my Jeep, but it's a Jeep, so relatively simple to fix. Hence I never looked into it. I have to imagine on a car like this it is a noticeable amount of money.

I think I had seen, amid all the hysteria, that a class action suit was filed because of this and the fail rate at one time was something like 7%?

Would the C4S have a more expensive clutch replacement than a standard RWD Carrera? I feel like I heard that somewhere.

You, sir, just won the internet for the day.

Okay you totally had the 996 in there...my bad.

    X2 on the 996

Ah man. That reminds me of this one time at discotech, I almost had sex on this girl!

    I said over.

Thanks for the reply. I would probably sooner invest less in the initial car purchase to have a higher mileage model that I could tinker with. Where I live in coastal SC, the roads are garbage, so the idea of a relatively affordable, super comfortable car is extremely appealing.

In a world where you can pay more than 25% over the national average household income for an F-150, Hyundai should absolutely explore this.

You make this seem so freaking simple. Have you been at this a while, or are just not afraid to work on it until it's right?

    jeep J10 anyone?
