You forget... The USA is the only country in the world. There are no other places. Everywhere else you ever hear mentioned are just made up places by Hollywood.

Put Jell-O in the runoffs

the point is to drive your car until there is not real difference in depreciation, and THEN buy another. After 10 years and 200k, most cars are at the bottom anyway.

I don’t need one, and it is still a bit big for my daily grind, but I keep gravitating back to Maverick. I can’t think of a better swiss army knife of a vehicle for $25k.

The Maverick XL with AWD in Area 51 blue I just ordered for $28k

Came here to say this.  Yes, it’s not quite a real pickup.  But it’s so much more car than any price-comparible econosedan.

I believe on a site like this we should always be allowed to talk about used cars.

does the maverick count yet?  for that price nothing is even close.

Ford Maverick.

Might want to raise your standards a bit. There are much better cars than these.

FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

Well, there’s still about 4 months until the start of the season, they can get the wrinkles ironed out.

I’m on team XLT Hybrid as well. I never thought I’d be interested in a new car, but here we are. 40 or 45mpg from a truck is bonkers. I love it.

I’m guessing we’ll see a hybrid AWD in the near future, with only electric motor(s) in the rear, like how the Toyota Highlander, etc. work. That’d be a good thing to add at the first “refresh” and would probably put me in the driver’s seat.

It really looks like a home run, at least until the roof falls off or whatever first-year-Ford gremlins reveal themselves.  Thanks for for all the details.

Great question, but people also live in west Texas so I’m not sure this mystery will every be solved.

When I was in high school, I managed to misplace my $3 skips from EJ Korvettes after a gym class and was directed to a lost and found bin, from which I retrieved someone else’s lost Chuck Taylors in my size.

Actually, 85 octane is for filling up your rental car before you drop it off at Hertz

Everyone is talking about the octane, that's all well and good, but... Is Converse not the cheap Target brand? Here I grew up thinking anyone wearing Chuck Taylors went the cheapest route, because every other brand cost more, and Chuck Taylors you could get with champions at Walmart for $20.

Hell yeah, I want my window regulator to operate at 440v. Could you imagine the wiper speeds possible? That’d be mad!
