A couple of things to consider: residential electricity consumption in the has been declining for a while now - there’s actually plenty of spare capacity for EVs in the short term. Electric company CEOs have gone on record stating that the shift to EVs is manageable, and will be much less abrupt than the shift to home

Ha, same here.  I didn’t realize it was a “Fancy Kristen” piece until the second paragraph.

Well if they sold these exclusively in Italy, I’d say you have a point. Problem is, only like 5% of these are sold in Italy. It’s probably a stupid name in Italian, but good luck finding an Italian willing to disparage the prancing pony.

The structure itself is said to be unstable...

When I first started perusing the ol’ Cragslist for vehicles, I soon learned that BMWs with blown head gaskets were as common as mosquitoes. Not surprising. Then I started noticing that there were a lot of Subarus with blown head gaskets, which considering how few there are in my neck of the woods, was pretty bizarre.

If I see a vehicle approaching from the rear, I will slow down in the right lane and wait for the car to pass before I pass. I also speed up (sometimes significantly) when I pass in the left lane so as not to force others to slow.

I fucking despise tailgaters.

Just get off Twitter, dude.

Thanks, I’ll add that to the list.

I’ve been following Tesla fairly closely since 2010. I’m not an investor, don’t own a Tesla, I just found the whole company fascinating, PRIMARILY because of how many so-called experts were resolute in the fact that It Couldn’t Be Done!

Hot Take! But not entirely accurate. I could actually get on board with your version of what Toyota (should) have done. They didn’t sit back - they plowed BILLIONS of dollars into hydrogen research, which ironically faces probably triple the challenges faced by batteries, with only 1 potential upside (refueling

Can I get a “Fuuuuuuuuck you” for Oregon!!. Only in the communist paradise of Oregon is doing “maths” a violation of law/code whatever.

Somewhat related - I got a tour of your head honcho’s Gulfstream G-IV in 2005.

Did I miss something, or was there a reason the S2000 wasn’t suggested?

That’s all fine and good, but what I really want to know is why does the name sound like a combination of “urethra” and “anus”?

I had heard that it was the case once upon a time, I wasn’t sure if it had gone the same direction as German “reliability”.

Which was probably well thought out by Daimler. They rent the vehicle through a service which gives them a layer of anonymity, and the reason to (potentially) use contractors is to add another layer of protection/deniability... I’m probably much more cynical than you are.

Is Daimler known for build quality?

However, the couple didn’t know who rented out their Model X until it was returned heavily damaged, with a note in the glove box which read “you parked incorrectly” from the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center in Sindelfingen, Germany, near the marque’s Stuttgart corporate headquarters....
