2nd Gear: What Is The Future Of Car Dealerships?

Crazy! You could get a brand new one for about that price.

I’d have a very hard time buying a used car for what equates to only 12.5% off MSRP, even something as desirable as a Type R. If you can’t afford $40,000 for a new type R, why would you spend $35,000 for a used one?

So what’s the difference between between simply having a strong desire for something and being addicted to something?

So why didn’t she call the police after the altercation? You fire shots at somebody in the dark, and DON’T think reporting to authorities is necessary? Is this the wild west?

Curious to see how the shift to electric affects gas stations in the long term. Everyone knows gas stations make little profit on gas, and lots of profit on things like $2 candy bars. 60% of the population will probably be able to charge at home/work on a daily basis, but road trippers and city dwellers won’t. Will

Unfortunately for Mazda they’re facing a moving target. Coal is being rapidly phased out in favor of wind, solar, and natural gas. So 10% might be 15% in a couple of years, and 20% soon after. I’m in agreement that gas isn’t going anywhere soon, so more efficient gas engines are great.

The review says it’s basically terrible. Now, it might be capable under limited circumstances - ie offroading - a condition which probably 95% of the ones sold here in the states will never, ever see.

One advantage of driving a diesel, you don’t have to put up with this bullshit.

I thought I caught a whiff of Russian Troll in your previous post.

Well said.

Thank you for proving my point!

One of the central theses of our American system is freedom of thought. You are legally allowed to have all manner of vile and unpopular thoughts, ideas and opinions without the fear of violent recrimination from the government or fellow citizens.

I recently saw a Ferrari California in the wild. I don’t care for them in pictures, but in person it looked awesome!

“Not only was the certified European range of 500 kilometers (311 miles) impossible to achieve...”

I don’t ride bikes, but if I did, it wouldn’t be a Harley.

Erasing American history benefits no one and only condemns us to repeat past mistakes.

The Nazis didn’t come to power because people ignored them. The rise to power was a result of Germany’s WW1 defeat, or more accurately, the terrible post-war conditions that were the result of that defeat. Of course this ignores a host of other contributing factors like the Great Depression, etc.
