Exactly. I don’t want to drive an extra 4 hours round trip, but for a few thousand dollars I do! After my local dealers followed up with me, I told them exactly what I did and how much I spent. They were totally ambivalent - that’s why I suspect most people (or enough) just pay the price and move on.

How typical is it for people to walk into a dealership and just pay the asking rate? Based on my limited experience buying new cars, I have to think it’s pretty common. The local dealers were unwilling to offer almost anything in discounts.

Agreed, but it’s mostly the coupe drivers. I pretty much never see sedan drivers acting like fools. I almost never see coupe drivers acting normal.

I was looking at that, but there’s a value in not having to worry that my truck will break, worrying about maintenance, insurance, etc. I spend less than $300/month on truck rentals (and my company pays for it) and get a nearly brand new truck every time. The alternatives were buying my own and getting reimbursed…
