I can only speak for the process in MA, and the answer is maybe, which is the answer to every legal question with the qualifier, it depends on how much you want to spend. Even without perjury charges, if an officer is found to be untrustworthy in an instance, it will be highlighted every time he goes to court after

Well, I started with altruistic ideals and a sense of justice, but I ended up selling my practice because I was only doing it to pay bills at the end.

I’m aware of civil asset forfeiture and have litigated a few cases where clients had property seized that was eventually returned upon challenge, and they were also awarded some compensation and attorney fees.

You're close, except for that whole due process issue regarding the seizure of property. The cops can't just go around taking things from people for no reason, and there is no reason for the cops to be silent as to why.

Thank the good lord for sovereign immunity!! We pay them to hold others accountabl, not being accountable themselves is nothing more than an untaxable perk.

In light of the case a few years ago where the North Carolina law clearly said it was only illegal if both tail lights were out, and the police pulled over the driver and got him on drug or gun charges when only 1 light was out, I wasn't surprised the court went in this direction.

No, the state cannot deprive a person of property or Liberty without due process of law. Secret investigations and court hearings where the accused is not allowed to participate and confront their accusers are straight up not ok under the constitution.

So you’d be ok with the police impounding your car for over 100 days without telling you why?

Well, that’s a nice thought and al, but until we can get a 9th appointed, we might need to wait for another of those “small government conservatives” to slip off into the land of nod before this comes to the court.

It’s sickening that things like this have become just another “sign of the times,” or tool of authority and power for the police to abuse over the citizenry they “protect.”

As a resident of Boston, yes.

But the difference is that it’s all Boston sports fans, not just Red Sox fans.

Marriage sucks, don't it?

Naw....

Because it shows that he has a lack of understanding on world and domestic political values and regimes, and those kinds of views fall upon the ears of uneducated members of the population, who then have knee jerk reactions which cause people in the US to not have nice things.

Haha...class a baby, big timing it!!

I’m not leaving Monroe county dude.

Yeah, you're better off driving to the other side of the city and visiting Egypt.

Are you part of a famous rapper’s posse or something?
