I never understood New Yorkers complaint over New England accents. They’re essentially the same. A New York accent is just a Boston accent, with a cock in your mouth.

If these schoolchildren like food so much they should have not been born in to poverty.
I’m not responding to that douche’s original comment because douche. I am fully supportive of kids getting used to the idea that they deserve food. And that hunger is not a feeling they should ever have to become accustomed to.
They. Are. Children. What the fuck are they supposed to do, have empty bellies and possibly get bad grades because their minds are on that instead of their schoolwork? And who the fuck says that getting free meals via the government for the rest of their lives will be their takeaway? Awfully presumptuous.
I mean, feel free to explain to little Janie all about your Randian jerkoff fantasy and how her mother is a leech on the system but Janie is eight and she’s hungry and she doesn’t understand why adults who have food won’t give her food when she’s hungry.
Here you go: You’re a dick.
I starred your post because there are parts I agree with, but the cop in this thread seems pretty reasonable.
Cop here. I’ll chime in. The video itself isn’t helpful, other than proving that Bennett was detained and handcuffed. Unfortunately, we don’t have the video of what lead up to it. We could see if the officer was a complete asshole (certainly possible) or if Bennett is lying (also possible). I don’t know any of the…
No, she understands rather well - it may be good business sense, but it’s also complete fucking bullshit.
Oh, the trials and tribbleations...

This is the reason I come to Jezebel: I set ’em, my fellow-Jezzies knock ’em down.
That’s a false equivalence. Better to compare, say, a frozen, pre-packaged meal’s cost, or a ramen bowl, etc. One apple costs as much as a cup noodle. A pound of asparagus costs $5, that’s more than what a package of 6 Hot Pockets goes for. The issue of expense isn’t relegated to people choosing fast food over home…
always McDonalds as the straw man. dude, there are tons of cheaper outlets that MacD, starting with a pack of ramen that you can “cook” with the hot water at the office for just cents.
aaaaaaand, yeah, a lot of people, poor people, enjoys far less free time for those “simple things” than the middle class does, despite…
1) I can eat a full meal at McDonald’s for about $4, not $8. It will be absolutely terrible for me, but it will have more than enough calories to get me through the day and be composed of McDonald’s cheapest items.
Maybe it depends where you live.
I cooked a really nice paella last night, but the cost of the ingredients (and I didn’t go for expensive brands, etc) for a 2-person meal came to more than it would have cost to get a pizza each from the nice pizza place across the road.
I think the best advice for being healthy and happy to care a little bit less about people quibbling over definitions.
As Michael Pollan says, “Eat Food. Mostly plants. Not too much”
12 Angry Men is one of the greatest movies of all time and it has both courtroom drama and sports. Jack Warden’s character talks about nothing but sports and uses nothing but sports metaphors and Martin Balsam’s character was a high school football coach. So there you go.
first amemendment protects kap from not being persecuted from the government, it does not protect him from teams not wating to touch his average arm carrying all that baggage
