You only call me Dad when you want money.  What is it this time?

My cats have a thing for paper towels. They will take them out of the trash can and rip them up. Toilet paper isn’t even on their radar.

A house cat’s brain is as big as a walnut. Not the shell, the actual nut!

My theory is that cats are too smart to do tricks. They could learn them, but don’t see a point since their slaves will take care of them regardless.

What is it with dogs and tampons?! I know so many people who have dogs that have done this.

After cleaning up a box of tampons at 4 am that had been chewed into oblivion, I can say that my dog is dumb as a box of rocks.

I was called in to interview for a Technical Writer position at a local company. I had spent most of my career as a Manufacturing & Quality Engineer. During the interview they asked if would be interested in the Operations Manager position. They were eager enough to offer me the position for a week for me to scope out

I have been doing this for years. The first time (before the internet was like it is today, yes I’m older) I sent an email to a private company pretending to be a 5th grader writing a report about it. The insight I got about the job was impressive to the hiring manager. I’m actually surprised he didn’t ask how I knew

45 doesn’t care enough about his supporters to actually pardon them.

Christmastide ends on 1/5, so I take down my tree, wreath, and other Christmas decorations on 1/6.

Another option is to leave them up until Candlemas (Feb 2, which quite uncoincidentally is also Groundhog Day). This was the tradition in Tudor England.

There is more and more video coming out that the out of town Nazis started the riots as agent provocateurs.

You left out The Boston Busing riots of the 70's. The death and injury of two men in December of 1986 at Howard Beach NY at the hands of a mob of white teenagers. The Central Park Five’s bullshit conviction in 1989 and a certain Editorial by a fat, repulsive, sexual predator in The NY Times. The murder of Yusef

sending my sympathies. did the same last year. it’s an ordeal to say the least, at least, that is, if you’re doing all your prep work correctly and aiming for perfection :) i think every house i have moved into, the previous owners painted things on a whim with runs on the wall, painted outlets, haphazard attempts at

I love index funds for long term saving. But you should absolutely not be sticking money for an emergency fund or a vacation into those. Also, the market sucks right now. You aren’t going to be getting that much in an index fund within a year.

Unless something bad happens and the DOW goes to 13,000.

My partner and I are going to put a little of our vacation savings toward some things for the house, such as a new BBQ and some outdoor chairs.  Also considering painting.  If we’re going to be stuck inside for a while, it seems like a good idea to make our inside a bit nicer.

The only reason I can think to move it is if you keep your vacation money in a checking account versus your emergency fund in a high-interesting savings account. Even then, probably not worth the effort for the extra like $20 of interest max you would get doing this.

I have a credit from Airbnb for my canceled trip to Philly. I’m thinking of using it for a trip to Bodega Bay or Carmel for my birthday in October. I also have credits from United and American, I hope to use those next year.

If you have a library card, your library may give you access to additional free movie sites like Hoopla Digital. And if you don’t have a library card, what’s wrong with you?!?! :P
