I’ve never bothered to confirm the loop hypothesis, but I play on the assumption. If I’m going to loop back to the start of a trip, I’ll hang out at the extreme end until I see the egg distance add, then I head back. It seems to minimize at least some of those zeroed-out distance glitches.

Spot on. Every time I start to really get into it the servers melt or my phone crashes (or some permutation of the two). The fact that the company doesn’t communicate a outcome the issues adds a whole additional layer of frustration. I want to like it, but my interest is waning quickly.
