What a lot of the other commenters are forgetting is that the majority of people out there these days have no idea whether their mechanic or service department is lying to them or a good place to be. They see older cars with unknown variables and unknown costs. It’s understandable that they would opt to pay 250$/mo

Not really. The vaq differential in the gti does a great job of keeping things in line. Torque steer only rears its head when the turbo hits threshold, but it’s not unmanageable or otherwise surprising. The steering wheel doesn’t turn more than 5 degrees.

Wasn’t there an accord crosstour back in 2009 that tried this?

I 100% agree with you. Granted, there are people with tuned golf R making this power on stock turbo, but even the stock turbo in the current R has too much turbo threshold for day to day driving. Even on a track at relatively fast tracks, it isn’t fully on power coming out of every corner. This is the biggest reason I

Screens, screens, screens, and more screens... Oh and of course more touch screen in your face. Just try navigating a bunch of sub menus on a touch screen on a bumpy road, in traffic. I was literally trying to get my stupid nav to stop shouting that I was in a construction zone and the lanes would narrow, about 30

I want an hud that replaces my tach and speedo. The only reason, is that I always like my steering wheel a bit lower and pointed at my chest. This makes it nearly impossible to see the gauges because the top of the steering wheel is in the way. I have to duck my head to see the top of the gauges, and that’s terrible

Yeah, I bought a dsg gti specifically for my wife to race it with me. Two races later, she says the fun of racing has worn off for her. I’ve taught her to drive manual on my 370z and wrx, but those cars have crappy clutch actuation, and teaching someone to drive manual well is very different from teaching someone to

Pretty good explanation. If I may add a few things to help others understand, your definition of boost threshold was pretty spot on and easy to understand, but lag is often misunderstood because people don’t see the whole intake as a big picture.

Why not flip the bootie into the bottle? That way you push it on, roll off the edge, and you don’t have to slide the bottle over the bootie...

I drove a 300zx a while back and had this same issue in first. I just thought it was a weird aftermarket clutch with some poorly worn or heat cycle pressure plate fingers. Later I had a 370z that exhibited the same thing after a few hard launches (one of which I thought I heard someone at the track yell flag, so I

Lots of good info from EE and there are still people in the comments that get it confused. It’s not their fault though, it’s all of the misinformation and forum bros that have grown the misconception.

A fully autonomous car isn’t necessarily super complicated, but it’s accounting for the random factors that is. Before we deploy a fully autonomous car, why don’t we deploy a service robot to lead the blind? Currently some people rely on guide dogs. These dogs have to be smart (that’s why they often use German

This is poor advice and exactly how people end up losing a ton of weight quickly without building muscle past the first 3 weeks. You then plateau and start to lose muscle as you become more mechanically efficient at the new movement for another two to three weeks. Most people brag about these 6 week results and then
