I agree with you on Tales of the Citadel, but the toxic selves episode explored the two different sides of the main characters while keeping its comedic cynicism. I seen it a slow burn as the episodes got better.

It depends on whether the vehicle doesn’t fire the fuel injectors during extended no throttle periods. On my 2012 Ford Fiesta it stopped using fuel after a couple seconds of completely letting off the throttle, observable via the torque app. Fuel mileage shot up to 99mpg, as high as the gauge could read, until I

It does waste extra fuel... or it does on at least on every vehicle I’ve plugged my ecometer into... which plugs into the ODB2 port.

i stopped watching him a long time ago. he’s like those dudes at car shows that pull up in kia’s and brag about 3 turbo’s installed on their 3jz motor, except everyone takes this guy seriously.

No it does not. You are correct about the 2 stroke application but in a modern 4 stroke when the wheels are turning and the throttle body is closed/injectors are not firing... The wheels are turning the engine instead of the engine (eventually) turning the wheels. I’m pretty sure I’ve had to correct you on technical

Yeah, I don’t know why they keep posting that dudes videos. He routinely says stuff that is completely wrong while simultaneously coming across as a smug butthead and being boring as fuck.

This is the way I’ve always done it. It just makes sense to not put the wear and tear on your clutch and transmission. Anyone who says otherwise is shift happy and extremely annoying to ride along with, IMO.

Another video from this guy that gets the answer mostly right, but fails on the details. Engine braking doesn’t convert kinetic energy into heat, like friction brakes do. It converts kinetic energy into pumping work, ie work to create a vacuum in the intake manifold, not creating heat. If anything you are

Most cars since the advent of electronic fuel injection cut fuel flow while under a engine braking/negative load scenario. For visual reference, if you’ve ever been in a car that displays “instant” fuel mileage, you’ll typically see the display go to 99.9 as the injectors aren’t firing.

I have never, ever heard that engine braking (or coasting in gear) is bad for any car. Who are you talking to that thinks that it is? Are you sure it’s engine braking that’s the question, or is it downshifting? On a manual, I rarely downshift because over time it’s extra wear on the clutch, transmission and the shift

Show me someone who thinks engine braking is bad and I’ll show you a stupid person. I’ve never heard anyone express that opinion honestly, not sure where Engineering Explained came up with that.

I guess there’s just a vas deferens in our levels of humor.

I admit it, I lol’d so hard when the second guy fell for it right after scolding the other dude when he fell for it.

You know.. Formula 1 and Indy Car drivers don’t have to go get their decals placed on their cars mid-race.

It is possible to win the mirror if you can burn a dead man’s hand with coldlight oracle. But with decent play that should be not very likely. My strategy in the mirror is to cycle my deck as fast as possible to just coldlight and shield block, then dead man’s hand for exponential coldlights, and then play as many as

What you’re describing is more the classic aggro versus control match up where the value-oriented deck tries to survive the initial onslaught until it can stabilize. At that point, the aggro player’s cheap draws would be outshined by the control player’s better ones.

“The only way this is actually interesting or exciting to watch is if the warrior loses can lose.”

Growing up I had a friend who claimed he was the creator of the Mortal Kombat games and Boon and Tobias stole the idea from him. I was naive enough to believe him. I realize now that as implausible as it was I wanted to believe him. It made me feel special to be close to someone who could make those claims. I mean

I found out my ex was cheating when I was 8 months pregnant. I locked down emotionally and decided I could stick it out for two years, instead of taking my toddler and soon-to-be-newborn and trying to manage on my own. I was a SAHM so I frankly needed that financial security.

Seriously, Jane is great at some stuff but that was terrible advice. She’s somebody I would absolutely be friends with IRL but I’d always be “Oh girl, NO” whenever she tried to give advice. I don’t think I’ve read a single column of Ask Jane yet that hasn’t made me angry. :(
