Yeah but the central theme of earthbending is that it is stiff and rigid. It would take immense amounts of energy to change simple rock into molten rock, especially when you don't have the ability to apply raw heat yourself. Even the Avatars of yore that lava-bended were working with already existing lava. That guy

Ah. I see.

Yeah.... I'm pretty sure royalty is inherited. Whether it should be is a completely different issue. But almost every society on this green earth has inheritance rules around royalty. Even in the Game of Thrones you cite, royalty is inherited. Daenerys doesn't want to sit on the throne because she earned it; she wants

I suppose we can agree to disagree. There is something a little tiring about someone that never loses though. After a while it just becomes fan-wankery and not really good storytelling. Kinda like how Batman always wins too, coz that's his superpower apparently.

Oh I was severely pissed when I saw the first season. I kept expecting them to change or get better and they just kept getting worse. Then Danny DeVito showed up and I realized it was torture porn and now I friggin love it.

Please where are these fans that are helping each other cope, coz I need help too. I keep trying to wish the show wasn't bad, and I keep reading opinions where people just don't see how bad it is in comparison. And I know I'll be tuning in, ever hopeful, for the new season next week. Because bending.

It was good, I think, until 6. It's been a while since I actually saw it. Plus I watched it as a teen and all that high school angst resonated so damn much I want to go back in time and slap myself around a bit. But yeah, season 3 and 4 (especially 4) were amazing, at least to my addled teenage mind.

I didn't like the third series and the main reason is this: The first two had a crime to be solved in each episode. It was like watching a short crime film. You saw Holmes' methods, and got to see cool villains. The character development between Holmes and Watson happened very subtly, while they were solving crimes

I see. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

In the name of all that is good and holy, be good. Just be good. Apparently it's been renewed for Season 4, so hopefully we can have a story that gives the characters room to grow, not 6 hours spread across 12 weeks in which they have a few fights, crack a few jokes, and stay as terrible as they've always been.

You would have a point if relationships didn't exist in the first series, or if heroes didn't have flaws in the first series either. The creators either don't know or can't duplicate what made the first series work. It's really that simple. They seemed to have something amazing with Season 1, and then they ended it

I find it really hard to see how the finale in Season 2 was good. The whole season was generally mediocre, but that finale was simply terrible. Like Jishosan said, uneven character development coupled with the massive deus ex left a bad taste in my mouth. I couldn't even enjoy the fights because I just kept thinking

Season 1 was all around amazing... until the end. I still cant believe how quickly it went to shit.

Yeah... I've had this discussion with a number of people so I'm a little tired of rehashing it. The second season was mediocre with a truly bad finale, the first was great right up until the finale (seems like a running theme with this show). You're welcome to disagree, and perhaps even show what was acceptable

The show has been pretty bad so far, apart from bending battles and general animation quality. I hate myself for getting excited with this trailer.

I agree, though I think there's was more wrong with season 2 than Tenzin's sudden lameness. Judging from how they've treated both seasons, however, I don't think the Vaatu will even be referenced. They seem hell-bent on telling "complete" stories in 12 episodes, leading to some of the worst and overrushed finales I

Not to detract from the main message here, which is that the fellow in the comic book store was an ass, but Christ the Man of Steel/DC hatred is strong on this site, or at the very least with Mr. Bricken.

And this right here folks summarises the argument perfectly. "LA LA LA LA LA! We don't need to make sense anymore! Nerd Rage! Superman! LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

Current trends in science fiction and what they're costing the industry.
