“How many more weeks of winter? For you, human, the answer is: none.”

jesus fucking christ, is the concept of “rule of law” so difficult to grasp?

There is also a correlation between the rise of consumer photography, and the decline of post-mortem photography. In the 19th century photography was largely a novel process that was, depending on the process, somewhat affordable to downright costly. It was reserved for special occasions, and far from being a casual

In another thread I said that it’s wrong to punch this guy, and also completely understandable to feel the way he did. Intellectually, I understand why he did what he did. But, it’s still a court of law, the father’s safety was not being threatened, and he tried to attack a person. That’s assault. He’s committing

No see, judges are really fixated on something called ‘precedent.’ All of law is, but judges are the arbiters of what is acceptable and what is not, and it is very important that somebody, even somebody who is guilty (maybe even especially somebody who is guilty), be allowed a safe environment to be tried. If you

You think the way to help your daughter is to pick up an assault charge (you can add battery if you beat the odds and actually connect with the target)? Interesting approach.

“I know we are a nation of laws, and this is a very serious and almost sacred process of deciding how to mete out punishment...but what the guy did was bad, so YOLO, you know? Free shots for everybody.”- No judge who wants to keep their job.

I don’t think you want to punch a guy in court. It sets a really bad precedent, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the judge drops the hammer on the guy for doing that.

They’ll probably throw some flimsy assault charge at him that won’t get enforced. Might spend a couple hours in custody.

Vigilante justice is not great. Larry’s going to die in prison, no need for anyone else to ruin their life over him.

All the ways you could possibly interpret their statement and you go with this one. Idiot.

You sure as f*** tried to spin what he said and failed.

you’re an idiot. Of course he’s not saying it’s good the EVENT happened. He’s saying it’s good the STORY came out and wasn’t able to be buried because the guy had money and industry connections.

Easy to explain: because everyone hates a pedophile.
Even the most corporate cops will do their job since there’s no danger to their lives and it’s great publicity.
Meanwhile, on the Root, an entire police squad turned their back to a minority couple after their vehicle was attacked by a racist woman.

Because “the police in the US” is not a single entity and can be evil and/or just depending on where you are?

The only time I ever saw Cornel West was when he came into Ben’s Chili Bowl in DC when I took my family there. Weirdly enough, there was a film crew there, shooting b-roll for a Larry The Cable Guy movie. I’m not sure what all of that means, but I didn’t stop laughing for about 20 minutes.

This really is the darkest fucking timeline.

That’s fair! Addictive behaviors can be very complicated. I was merely pointing out that it wasn’t as if she was pawning his stuff to buy meth or something. To me, his big issue with the weed is that she won’t pay enough attention to him when she’s high *tear*

I agree, they aren’t right for each other and he should just move on. The fact they go for days without talking is probably the biggest indicator that he shouldn’t have proposed.

or I Fought the Weed and the Weed Won.
