The reason why I’ll always have a place in my heart for baseball is that no other sport does quite as will with those kind of completely inane, pointless, wonderful stat dives.

Most of these new owners seem to be doing either that, or simply trying to use the team to increase their own fortunes via marketing and so on, with decidedly mixed results.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooof.

Endlessly laughing at the dog. 10/10 “WHOOSEAGOODBOY”s.

This entire conversation is absolutely amazing and would like all future NHL analysis to be done via medieval comparisons.

A ludicrous save but... is one of those announcers continually insisting, despite all evidence to the contrary, that it hit the post?

Thesaurus.com lists “rhubarb” as a synonym as well, which is delightful.

Absurd. I DMed a game of 6 recently and it was like my brain almost cracked in half.

Yeah, I enjoyed 4's soundtrack more than 5, honestly. Holy Thursday, Zombie, No Sex For Ben... I was listening to that soundtrack the whole summer after the game came out.

Between this and the dude playing goalie for the Blackhawks, this has been a great couple weeks for dudes who aren’t supposed to be there.

Took me a minute.

Actually, that example’s off, since that was UCONN’s first loss of the season. So maybe more like scoring a touchdown as time expires to win the AFC/NFC Championship over a team that was 17-0 going into the game, and then scoring a similar touchdown in the Super Bowl. That’s the best I’ve got.

Is there anything comparable to this in basketball, possibly sports history? Hitting a game-winning shot to kill off the overwhelming favorites and reach the championship game, and then hitting another game-winning shot to win the championship?

The number of things I am wholly unfamiliar with that are insanely popular feels like it’s growing exponentially these days.

Thank you for this, I am genuinely laughing so hard I’m having trouble breathing. Truly amazing.

I love sports, but man can they be brutal.

Not to mention UMBC got absolutely pasted by UAlbany two months ago.

This has nothing to do with the subject at hand, but I’m genuinely wondering if there was anything positive to Ricochet signing with WWE. I just don’t know if the WWE knows how to use wrestlers with his style, and given the crowd reactions to 205 Live, I don’t know if most of the fans outside of NXT will give a shit
