"But despite all the time War Dogs spends with these two characters, it never develops them past the initial impression that one is basically a good guy and that the other is bad news incarnate."

Yes. Like how so many critics and comments I saw panning Suicide Squad, yet it apparently made a shedload o' money.

TWD is a show I find baffling. It's apparently a ratings monster headed into Season 7, but literally every single comments section I see online is people lamenting how awful and shittily written it is. Even some of my friends who DO watch tell me how awful it's become. But it's still killing in the ratings.

I don't know what scares me more, the actual act of the vault, or the fact that Biles fucking STICKS it.

The sheer number of people who are apparently CRM scholars, despite only having half-listened to "I Have A Dream" during that one Black History Month presentation in middle school is just spectacular.

Bingo. For a better re-telling, I'd argue everyone should pick up "Hip-Hop Family Tree" by Ed Piskor.

I've been desperately meaning to buy this book for a while now. I guess I don't have an excuse anymore.

Even the implied violence in The Nice Guys had me in fits. When they go up to the hotel and discover that the hitmen are murdering everyone, and just decide "Nah", and quietly return to the elevator. Just beautiful.

That was the most fun I've had in the theater this summer.

I remain incredibly annoyed at myself that I was barely a stone's throw from going down that path as a 20-something myself. I have no idea exactly how I managed to avoid it, other than that I'd look at actual MRAs and find them spectacularly repulsive and then interrogate any ways in which my views and theirs lined

Please do not forget Roberto. Someone's gotta do the stabbin'.

Scruffy's gon' die the way he lived.

Made my way most of the way through season 2 of You're The Worst. Still very good, although I may not be as big on it as others.

I am caught. I have two weeks off to fill, and I need a new game to help fill the time.

D&D without an awareness of the absurdity is just the worst. Hanging out with your friends and acknowledging it is the best though. One of the hardest laughs I've ever had in my life was having our thief, caught by guards in the throne room, manage to convince two guards he'd been chased there by a magical flying bear.

This sounds largely mediocre. Not "bad", but definitely not "good", which is probably about right.

I was at a bar when there was a shooting.

I am REALLY curious to see how this one does at the theaters. Somehow, I imagine it ending up in the year-end Top 10 (bottom half, mind you), but who knows?

Yeah, the people in this movie are, I'm sure, nice people, but Viola can capital-A Act.

Yes, I remember that actually happening it real life, I just can't remember which mass shooting caused it.
