That may be the best line reading of 2015. Honestly.

The lengths "truthers" will go to to justify themselves is astonishing.

I just want to thank you for this comment. It's absolutely fantastic and a much smarter version of what I wanted to say.

Now that I can agree with.

That may be where we diverge then. What you see as setting the bar so low, as I said, I see as "acknowledging some of the stuff that happens every day". I grew up as a black kid in a largely-white town, and I grinned and beared for a lot of that stuff.

See, that's where I get complicated, because that "making nothing better" seems to be the result of minorities having a voice and influence they literally never had before in America. That was my LOL moment of the night.

Having just finished "What It Was", one of George Pelecanos' fantastic Derek Strange books, Shaft sounds like a wonderful comic right in that vein.

Yeah, Illmatic's going to follow Nas around forever. Truly a gift and a curse.

I laughed way too hard at all of these jokes.

This may be the perfect combination for 2015.

Which… just…. ugh.

She's a politician. I mean, I loathe her politics utterly, but I'm sure in person, she knows how to schmooze and charm.
