Again, that show's ratings over the years, and the fact that it got canceled in its final season for pulling a mere 7.69 is the most spectacular indictment of western society I can imagine.

I genuinely wanted to see this movie when it came out. At this point, i'm so burned out on the goddamn non-stop plugging of it that I'm happy to wait for it on Netflix or something.

That's the reason why he's always been one of my favorite heroes, like Ripley. They got out of situations no-one should have reasonably gotten out of, but they weren't indestructible ubermenschen.

I have always loved and defended Die Hard 3. It's a wonderful romp from beginning to end.

A "B" sounds just about right for Talib's new album. I haven't seen "King Remembered in Time" mentioned here either, which I thought was pretty solid.

Seconded. If there's a bidding war going on between the labels over this kid, it's richly deserved. "Good Ass Intro" is one of the best opening tracks I've heard on a rap album in years.

Is it really that incredibly hard to write minority characters? And is it that much of a horrendous punishment to be called out if you do a shit job of it?  I'm a guy, and if I write a show, and the women in it are depicted like something out of a Tucker Max story, and I get criticized for it, I deserve that

It's certainly not wrong to make a show about white friends. I think what people are objecting to isn't just that such a show has been done, but that it's dominated media, that shows have been written from a white perspective for a white audience for years and years, and have largely excluded or barely acknowledged
