Ester Ledecká is my favorite story from this Olympics!! I love that she’s from the Czech Republic (no connection there - just cool when a non-traditional powerhouse pulls something like this off) and I love that one of her coaches told her that she needed to pick a sport!

The Russians won the two medals that matter most to them, Men’s Hockey and Women’s Figure Skating.

The Skelton athlete from Arizona essentially thought it looked cool last Olympics, called up the US team and got on. So depending how much time you got, you could be on the team in Beijing...

Best moments of these Olympics (non-U.S. - go amerikee). Ester Ledecká winning a double. That is just absurd. And the Germans joining the Canucks as they tied for first on the bobsleigh.

The rest of the world may look at our team of curlers and see what appears to be a group of small town credit union employees taking a group golf outing a bit too seriously, I see a group of champions who are about to bring grey chinos with a black belt back into style.

This pissed me right the fuck off.

You are looking at his actions without the proper context:

The movie itself CLEARLY ended up TeamNakia. I have no idea why this is even a debate.

“Which Bad Idea Are You Having?” might be the “Show Me the Money” of this decade.

I cried with him when he went back to the spiritual plane

Gotta call you out on this one, Squiddy — wouldn’t go over Cheez-wiz level here.

Hmmm good point.

I don’t want to speak for the author, but I don’t think what they are saying is that the movie should have made Killmonger different but that the audience needs to acknowledge his toxicity. We are supposed to empathize with his overall goal and motivations but ultimately reject him because he’s a psychopath. His idea

The fact that the story made a point to show him killing two black women, two black women that he didn’t need to kill at all, is being minimized by some, and it’s disheartening

Fam, I hear you. I don’t think that’s the issue though.

this movie had 9 million black women in it, fighting, kicking major ass, representing the culture to the highest of highs and Nakia and Okoye were the vanguards. Just because some people are claiming #TeamKillmonger that doesn’t at all diminish those 9 million black women in the slightest, IMO nor could Killmonger

You make a really good point about how there is no #TeamNakia hashtag floating around the Internet when she had the same desire to see Wakanda share it’s bounty with the rest of the world’s black folk but without Killmonger’s sociopathy.

Wanted a new world order with wakanda at the top and him on top of that. That’s why he burned the herbs. There weren’t supposed to be heirs or challenges to his power. Just him.

It was a movie version of our family reunion picnics. We ate, we argued, we laughed, we fought, the kids were beautiful, the clothes were on point, we laughed at the random white person who showed up, and late in the day our uncles actually got in a fist fight. And the whole thing had to be saved by aunti and her

I saw a screening of “Finding Dory” during a sensory-friendly showing (lots of kids with autism in the audience). There is a flashback scene where Dory’s parents are crying over her (Dory’s) memory issues, worried she will never be able to take care of herself, and they wonder who will be there for her when they are
