The problem with Spider-Verse is that it genuinely felt like half a movie: buildup buildup buildup, stakes finally get established, characters take sides, and then... end.

as someone who has zero interest in a bunch of quasi-canonical cartoons, it irks me to no end that this is being billed as a direct sequel to one. who the hell is “ezra bridger”? why should i care? The show had better do a good job of establishing it and not play out like it’s expecting viewers to know all this stuff.
