Yes, this is a good take on it. No apologies for Moore.

I encourage you to read the WaPo article, so you’ll see the distinction I was trying to make. Not a defence. (Moore is horrible.) But an important difference if you want to have a real conversation about paedophilia and sexual assault in our society.

Moore is gross, but it’s distracting to label him paedophile when what he got up to was something else. Paedophilia is a real thing; Moore’s a creep and disgusting but not that.
