Depends on your situation. It does amaze me how many people who slave away for $10/hour won’t put in a few extra hours to get a few hundred bucks’ better deal on buying or selling a car.

My impression would be that institutional investors treat sell-side “analysts” as street barkers, and it’s their in-house buy-side analysts who make the real decisions.
